Brent Rooker went 2-4 in last night’s 12-3 win over the Chicago as the Athletics and White Sox battle once again tonight.
Jonathan Cannon gets the start for Chicago who has allowed three home runs in 14 innings pitched this season with Rooker going for his fifth home run.
He hit four in his first nine games, but hasn’t hit one in his last eight. He hit 24 of his 39 total home runs last season on the road while sporting a .605 slugging percentage and batted .364 with a .500 slugging percentage against the White Sox last season as well.
Sure, Rooker is only hitting .205 so far this season, but last night was his first multi-hit game this month and we anticipate him parlaying that with some more power tonight.
Take Rooker to hit a home run at +390 with Lawrence Butler (+480) and Tyler Soderstrom (+520) being other viable options to hit a home run in tonight’s Athletics vs White Sox game as well.
MLB HR Props Best Bet of the Day #2: Max Muncy (LAD) +480
We’re picking on another Rockies starting pitcher tonight in German Marquez who starts at the Dodgers tonight and although he hasn’t given up a home run in 15.2 innings pitched this season we think that streak comes to an end tonight.
He allowed five earned runs in just 4.2 innings pitched in his last start at San Diego with Dodgers third baseman Max Muncy going 7-32 with four home runs against Marquez in his career.
It hasn’t been a great start for Muncy this season, but historically he’s done better against righties and last season batted .246 with a .603 slugging percentage at home compared to just a .216 average and .369 slugging percentage in road games.
It’s also worth noting that Muncy has had some success against the Colorado bullpen as well going a combined 4-12 with two doubles and a home run against Scott Alexander and Jake Bird combined.
Muncy had four home runs last April so let’s take him to get his first of the season tonight against Colorado at +480 odds with other Dodgers hitters to consider for a home run include Freddie Freeman (+400) and Teoscar Hernandez (+320).
