MLB HR Props Best Bet of the Day #2: J.D. Martinez (NYM) +475
J.D. Martinez has two different instances this season of hitting home runs in back-to-back games and we think the same happens tonight with the Mets getting lefty Eduardo Rodriguez on the mound tonight in Arizona.
Martinez has had two straight days off but belted a home run in the Mets series finale at San Diego last Sunday.
He’s 3-5 with two home runs all time vs the Arizona lefty and hits a home run every 15 at-bats vs left handed pitching compared to just one home run every 29 at-bats vs right handers on the season. He’s batting just .194 this month but against Arizona this season is 6-15 with two home runs.
Rodriguez has three starts under his belt since making his Diamondbacks debut on Aug 7 but two of those starts were against the Marlins and Rockies, not the most impressive offenses.
Take Martinez to hit a home run at +475 and if you want a long shot to hit a home run, consider Jose Iglesias at +1400 who is 5-12 with a home run off Rodriguez in his career.
