Cardinals starting pitcher Lance Lynn returns from the IL to make a start against the Reds after missing all of August with a knee injury.

Elly De La Cruz doesn’t have a hit against Lynn in the five at-bats he’s gone against him but we think there is a good shot he hits a home run in Busch Stadium tonight.

The Reds shortstop has actually hit 24 points better on the road than at home this season and sports a .532 slugging percentage against right handed pitching on the season.

Lynn would prefer to pitch against right-handed batters but that won’t be the case tonight with switch hitting De La Cruz who will be hitting left-handed against Lynn.

De La Cruz is hitting just .212 in September but we expect Lynn to be somewhat rusty making his return and perhaps the motivation is lacking some with the Cardinals out of the playoff race.

Take De La Cruz to hit a home run at +550 but if you want a long shot pick, consider Jake Fraley at +1100.

MLB HR Props Best Bet of the Day #2: Anthony Santander (BAL) +400

Orioles outfielder Anthony Santander is having arguably the best year of his career blasting 40 home runs so far with 24 of them coming on the road as Baltimore plays at Boston in the last of a three-game series tonight.

The Red Sox send Nick Pivetta to the mound who has given up zero home runs in his last two starts combined, but those were against the Tigers and White Sox. In his five starts before that, he gave up two home runs in each including a start against Baltimore.

Santander is 4-13 all time against Pivetta and being a switch hitter, prefers to face right handed pitching judging by his .247 average against righties compared to .226 average against lefties.

Santander hit his 40th home run in the first game of this series so let’s go with him to cap off the series with a home run as well with odds at +400 with Cedric Mullins another viable option at +700 to hit a home run going 10-28 with two home runs against Pivetta all-time and just had two home runs last night.
