Today, we look to build on our success in the first-inning market. What are the best NRFI bets to make today? There are a lot of factors at play when it comes to these bets, so there is always a ton that goes into it. Let’s dive in.
Best NRFI Bets Today – Free NRFI Picks
NRFI Prediction No. 1: San Francisco Giants at Chicago Cubs (-110)
We cashed on these two teams yesterday, and we are going back to the well today.
The Giants average .33 runs per first frame, the fourth-worst mark in the MLB. We are fading them today in a matchup of two solid starters. Their run-per-first-inning figure drops to .25 on the road, so we like the NRFI. They have averaged .67 runs over their last three games, and we expect regression. They are facing Justin Steele, who has pitched well so far this season. The Giants roster has a .280 xwOBA against Steele.
The Cubs average .47 runs per first inning, which is in the middle of the pack. They have averaged zero runs per first inning over their last three games. Their run production in the first frame rises to .54 runs at home, but we are not concerned. Both offenses’ mediocre first-inning success has us on the NRFI. Logan Webb is pitching for SF, and he has a .285 xwOBA against the current Cubs’ roster.
NRFI Best Bet Today #2: Seattle Mariners at Cleveland Guardians (-110)
The Mariners put up .46 runs per first frame, which is the middle of the pack in the MLB, but we are fading them today. They are averaging 1 run in the first inning over their last three games, and we expect regression. The Mariners score .49 runs in the first on the road, so there is a slight increase, but we are not worried. They are facing righty Triston McKenzie, who has been solid this season. The current Mariners roster has seen McKenzie well, but we think he can bear down for three outs today.
The Guardians are averaging .46 runs in the first frame, which is tied with Seattle. So far this season, they are averaging .55 runs at home. Right-handed starter Bryce Miller makes a start for Seattle, and Miller has been great this season. No Guardian has ever faced Miller, which is an edge.
