Over the last four weeks, our NRFI recommendations are 27-17. Is that good? We think that’s good. We split our recommendations Thursday, going 1-1, and we are 27-17 over our last 45 bets.

Today, we look to build on our success in the first-inning market. What are the best NRFI bets to make today? Let’s dive in.

Best NRFI Bets Today – Free NRFI Picks

NRFI Prediction 1: Philadelphia Phillies at Miami Marlins (-110)

The Phillies are the best first-inning team in baseball, averaging a full run per first inning, but we are going with the under in today’s NL East showdown. The Phillies have averaged just .33 runs per first inning over their last three games, and their run production in the first frame drops to .69 runs when they are on the road. Today, they face Trevor Rodgers, who has a 31.2% K rate against their lineup and a .314 xwOBA.

Ranger Suarez has been the best pitcher in the NL so far this season, and he is making the start for the Phillies. Suarez’s advanced metrics have him in the Cy Young conversation so far this season, and he will look to continue his case by starting off today with a scoreless first frame. This is a great NRFI target. The Fish are averaging .82 runs in the first, which is 4th in the MLB, but Suarez gives them a tough matchup.

NRFI Best Bet Today #2: Kansas City Royals at Los Angeles Angels (-110)

We faded these two teams in the first inning last night, and we were able to get to the window with ease. The Royals are one of the best first-inning offenses in the MLB, but we are fading them today on the road in Los Angeles. Kansas City averages .69 runs per first frame, but that number drops to .44 when on the road. They are facing righty Griffin Canning, which is a good matchup for them, but based on their road splits, we are targeting this as an NRFI.

The Angels are averaging .45 runs in the first frame, but they have been worse at home so far this season, averaging .38. Alec Marsh makes the start for the Royals, and though he has been getting hit hard, he limits walks, which is huge for an NRFI. The current Angels roster has never seen Marsh, which is an advantage for him.
