Pitcher Prop Bets No. 1: Cristopher Sanchez (PHI) Over 5.5 Strikeouts (-125; DraftKings)

Cristopher Sanchez has cleared this number in just two of his last four starts, but he has a great strikeout matchup today against the Red Sox. The Red Sox have a 30.1% K rate against left-handed pitching over their last 14 games, and Sanchez is in just the 89th percentile for chase rate and the 36th for whiff rate.

The Red Sox lineup becomes more strikeout-heavy with all their injuries, and this is still a good matchup for this team. The Red Sox’s swinging strike rate and chase rate are currently both higher than their season-long numbers, and we expect this team to continue to struggle against left-handed pitching. Boston has a 31% chase rate over their last 14 games against lefties, making this one of the best pitcher prop bets on the board.

Pitcher Props Today – Best Bets No.2: Pablo Lopez (MIN) Over 7.5 Strikeouts (+130; DraftKings)

Pablo Lopez is coming off a poor four-strikeout game against the Yankees, but this number is low against the Rockies. Lopez has only cleared this number once in his last five starts, and that was on 5/9. However, the Rockies strike out one of the most against right-handed pitching during the day.

Lopez is in the 74th percentile for K rate, the 58th for chase rate, and the 72nd for whiff percentage. The Rockies’ current strikeout metrics are poor against right-handed pitchers, and Lopez is a dominant K pitcher when he is on. With a pitch count that can go around 100, this is a great price for Lopez to ring up eight or more Rockies.
