Chicago White Sox vs Toronto Blue Jays Analysis

The Toronto Blue Jays begin a three game series against the Chicago White Sox on Monday evening from Guaranteed Rate Field. The White Sox dropped two of three games in Houston against the Astros this weekend.

The Blue Jays also lost two of three at home against the New York Yankees. Toronto will send the veteran Jose Berrios to the mound, he will be opposed by Pale Hose hurler Lance Lynn. First pitch is scheduled for 8:10 PM EST/5:10 PST.

Jays Finally Beat Yankees

The Toronto Blue Jays salvaged the final game of their series against the New York Yankees in dramatic fashion. They were down 8-3 coming into the 6th when Lourdes Gurriel Jr mashed a grand slam and Teoscar Hernandez followed suit with a three-run blast in the 7th which proved to be the game winner.

The Jays overcame another poor outing by Yusei Kikuchi and ultimately won 10-8. The Blue Jay bats had a slow start to the season but have bounced back and become one of the leagues best offensive units.

They rank fifth in batting average at .255 and third in OPS at .752. Toronto will look to Jose Berrios in search of a second straight victory. It’s been an up and down season for Berrios as he has a 5-2 record and 4.65 ERA.

Berrios pitched to a no-decision in his last outing against the Baltimore Orioles as he tossed seven innings of three run baseball.

White Sox Drop Another Series

The Chicago White Sox lost the rubber game of their three game set against the Houston Astros 4-3 yesterday afternoon. The youngster Michael Kopech was charged with the loss as he allowed all four runs in only five innings of work.

A.J. Pollock had an RBI triple and Luis Robert went 2 for 4 with an RBI. The Pale Hose offensive attack hasn’t come close to expectations.

They do rank 8th with .251 team batting average but only 22nd with a .684 OPS. At 31-33 they occupy third place in the American League Central, five games behind the Cleveland Guardians. The strapping starter Lance Lynn will toe the rubber for only his second time this season.

He wasn’t as sharp as usual in his first outing as he allowed three earned runs on 10 hits in only 4.1 innings pitched.

Chicago White Sox vs Toronto Blue Jays Prediction

The Toronto Blue Jays enter this game slightly favored on the money line at -125, while the Chicago White Sox sit at +105 with a total of 9.

This is a solid matchup of two teams who were held in high regard as we began the season. Neither team has fully lived up to expectations but both are still in position to make some noise.

Neither starter has shown his best stuff this season and we have several hitters on each side with tremendous track record against the opposing pitcher.

Both teams trend ever so slightly to the over and I would expect that to continue tonight. We have some extremely favorable hitting conditions with the wind blowing out in Chicago, let’s take a shot on over 9 runs.

Prediction: Over 9
