Expert MLB Props for Tuesday: Seiya Suzuki, Cubs Over 1.5 (-140)

Today is Patrick Corbin Day and Seiya Suzuki is one of many Chicago Cub players that has an amazing track record against this horrendous pitcher.

Corbin is an innings eater at best and he hasn’t posted an ERA below 5.20 or a WHIP below 1.47 during any of his last four seasons.

He’s only pitching out of necessity after a blister put Jack Leiter on the shelf. Suzuki has thrived against Corbin, going 4-10 (.400) with two home runs.

He isn’t the only Cub slugger that has beat-up on Corbin as Ian Happ has gone 6-16 (.375), Nico Hoerner 5-12 (.417) and Dansby Swanson 11-41 (.268) with a home run.

We do have cold temperatures projected at Wrigley Field, but this lineup has feasted Corbin, and I can’t imagine he’s improved after starting the season in Triple-A. 

Expert MLB Props for Tuesday: Rafael Devers, Red Sox Over 1.5 (-115)

Rafael Devers couldn’t buy a hit during the first four games of the season, but he’s covered this HRR line in 5 of his last 6 games since getting his first hit in Baltimore.

During those six games, Devers has gone 10-22 with a home run, 8 RBI and 8 runs scored. The wind is blowing out to right field at 25 MPH with the potential for 40 MPH wind gusts at Fenway Park tonight so if Devers gets a hold of one the ball will carry.

Easton Lucas is a left-handed pitcher, but he won’t last much past the 5th inning which will give Devers at least two opportunities against an extremely vulnerable bullpen.
