Hitter Prop Prediction 1: Alex Bregman

Houston Astros third baseman finished the regular season with a .262 batting average, 25 home runs and 98 RBI across 722 plate appearances.

However, his production has dipped in the postseason with a .200 batting average (6-30), two home runs and only 5 RBI.

Bregman has also fallen short of 2+ Hits + Runs + RBI in 4 of his 8 playoff games. Texas Rangers starting pitcher Jordan Montgomery posted a 10-11 record during the regular season with a 3.20 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 166 strikeouts across 188.2 innings of work.

Montgomery has been lights out in the postseason with a 1-0 record and 2.08 ERA across 17.1 innings pitched.

We have seen him toss two scoreless outings with seven innings against the Tampa Bay Rays and 6.1 innings in his most recent start against the Houston Astros.

Bregman is only 4-16 (.250) against Monty throughout his career, with no extra-base hits and only one RBI.

Southpaws have been an issue for Bregman this season, batting only .215 with 7 home runs across 186 at-bats compared to a ,282 batting average and 21 home runs in 436 at-bats against righties. Let’s continue to fade Bregman against a lefty he has struggled against in the past.

Hitter Prop Prediction 2: Bryce Harper UNDER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (+115)

Philadelphia Phillies designated hitter Bryce Harper finished the regular season with a .293 batting average, 21 home runs, 72 RBI and 84 runs scored across 542 plate appearances after missing the entire month of April due to injury.

In the postseason, Harper is hitting .357 (10-28) with four home runs and 7 RBI while recording 2+ Hits + Runs + RBI in 6 of 9 games.

However, Harper has also been walked 11 times in those 9 games with 2 walks in each of the three games he fell short. You have to wonder, when will the Diamondbacks decide to keep the bat out of Harpers hands and make someone else beat them?

Arizona Diamondbacks spot starter Joe Mantiply finished the 2023 regular season campaign with a 2-2 record, 4.62 ERA and 28 strikeouts across 39 innings of mostly relief work.

He has been flawless against Harper, holding him to 0-4 throughout his career. Mantiply may only face Harper once, so it will be on the bullpen to neutralize Harper.

If Arizona walks Harper twice, he will face an uphill battle to record 2+ HRR in only 2 or 3 legitimate chances. Let’s take a shot on the under at plus money.
