Hitter Prop Prediction 1: Marcell Ozuna Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-105)

Atlanta Braves designated hitter Marcell Ozuna is enjoying his 2023 campaign with a .267 batting average, 31 home runs and 75 RBI across 467 plate appearances.

He has recorded 2+ Hits + Runs + RBI in his last nine games and 22 of his last 30 games for a 73% success rate.

Ozuna has increased his batting average from .235 at the beginning of the month to where it currently sits at .267. Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Lance Lynn is 10-9 with a 5.56 ERA and 170 strikeouts across 150.2 innings of work.

Lynn has won the head-to-head matchup with Ozuna thus far, holding him to 3-19 with no home runs. However, Ozuna was 1-8 against Kyle Freeland prior to hitting a two-run bomb against him last night.

Lynn has also allowed 34 home runs which is the most of any pitcher in majors. Ozuna is obviously a power hitter and is on track to set a career best number. We will set the matchup aside in this one and ride the hot bat in a potential NLCS preview.

Hitter Prop Prediction 2: Max Muncy Under 0.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (+125)

Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Max Muncy is batting .208 with 31 home runs and 88 RBI across 462 plate appearances during the 2023 regular season.

Muncy is currently on a 9-game hitting streak, clearing this Hits + Runs + RBI total in each game. Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Spencer Strider currently has the 2nd best odds to win the National League Cy Young with a 15-4 record, 3.46 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 236 strikeouts across 153.1 innings of work.

Strider has been lights out in his last three outings with only a solo run allowed across 21 innings while striking out 25.

Muncy has struggled against Strider throughout his career, going 0-6 with two strikeouts. Muncy is easily on his hottest stretch of the season with a five-game hitting streak being his prior high-water mark, making this current streak seem very unsustainable.

Now he’s facing an ace that he has had zero success against in the past. The HRR number is lower than the 1.5 we are accustomed to, but we get +125 odds with Strider on the mound.
