Hitter Prop Prediction 1: Giancarlo Stanton

New York Yankees designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton is wrapping up the worst season of his career with a .190 batting average, 24 home runs and 58 RBI across 406 plate appearances.

It’s been all or nothing for Stanton in September as he is batting .121 (7-58) and four of those hits have been home runs. Stanton has now fallen short of 2+ Hits + Runs + RBI in his last six and 9 of his last 10 games.

Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Jose Berrios has put together a solid 2023 campaign with an 11-11 record, 3.58 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 174 strikeouts across 183.2 innings pitched.

Berrios has been lights out in September with 2-1 record and 2.81 ERA across 25.2 innings of work. Stanton has struggled against Berrios throughout his career, going 1-12 (.083) with only a single and six strikeouts.

Berrios is also a bit sharper when he pitches north of the border, and he should have the stuff and confidence to shut down Stanton tonight and hold him under 1.5 HRR.

The Prop Pick: Giancarlo Stanton UNDER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-105)

Hitter Prop Prediction 2: Paul Goldschmidt OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-135)

St Louis Cardinals first baseman Paul Goldschmidt is batting .267 in 2023 with 25 home runs and 79 RBI across 677 plate appearances.

Goldschmidt has hit a recent cold spell with a .198 September batting average to go along with three home runs and 10 RBI.

However, Goldy has Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Wade Miley’s number throughout his career, going 10-20 (.500) with two home runs and four extra-base hits. Miley is 9-4 with a nifty 3.20 ERA but only 77 strikeouts across 115+ innings of work.

He shut down the Cardinals with seven scoreless innings in his last outing. However, the Brewers clinched the National League Central title last night and the champagne showers followed to kick off a night of celebration.

This will be Miley and the Brewers first meaningless game of the season, and they have a handful of regular season games to right the ship afterwards.

Regardless of slumps, Goldschmidt draws walks (16 in September & 3 vs Miley) and those can lead to runs that could put him over the top to cash ticket.

It also doesn’t hurt that he will be facing a pitcher who he has a .500 batting average against in 20 at-bats.
