Home Run Prop Prediction 1: Bryce Harper (+420)

The Phillies got rained out the last time we went with Bryce Harper, but today is another solid spot to take the Phillies DH going against Diamondbacks righty Ryne Nelson.

Harper bats .366 against righties on the season with a 1.039 OPS. He’s a slightly better hitter in day games with Nelson allowing lefties to bat .330 with a .996 OPS give up as well.

Nelson was solid in his last start against the Tigers but in his two starts before that allowed eight earned runs in total to the Braves and Rockies.

Harper’s power has to come around sooner rather than later as he hit a home run every 21 at-bats in 2022. In 2023 so far, he’s only hit one every 46 at-bats with three in total. If Harper is going to hit a home run anytime soon, today makes a perfect spot for it.

Take Harper to hit a home run at +420 with other Phillies hitters who could hit a home run in Arizona include Kyle Schwarber (+255) and Brandon Marsh (+750).

Home Run Prop Prediction 1: Austin Riley (+310)

Austin Riley and the Braves are off a doubleheader win over the Tigers yesterday and will head home to welcome Kyle Freeland and the Rockies for a 4-game series.

Riley only has 11 home runs this season after a season in which he hit 38. Five of his 11 home runs have come off left handed pitching in 61 at-bats compared to the other six coming in 203 at-bats against righties.

Riley hits much better at home with a .313 batting average and .863 OPS compared to only .215 and .670 on the road. Riley only has one home run this month as he hit six in June 2022.

He’s 2-3 off Freeland in his career with a home run as the Colorado lefty has allowed righties to hit .266 on the season with a .777 OPS allowed as well. Freeland has allowed eight home runs in 33.2 innings pitched on the road this season coming out to one allowed every four innings or so.

Take Riley to hit his second home run of the month tonight at +310 with other Braves hitters to consider for a home run include Ronald Acuna Jr. (+320) and Ozzie Albies (+430).
