Rangers third baseman Josh Jung has crushed left-handed pitching on the season as Texas hosts Detroit starting a 4-game series.

The Tigers send Matthew Boyd to the mound who already has a start against the Rangers on the season going six innings and giving up five earned runs including a home run.

That home run wasn’t hit by Jung but he carries a .333 batting average and his 1.021 OPS against left-handed pitching on the season is top 10 among all MLB players against lefties. He hit six home runs in both April and May but only three so far in June.

Boyd allows righties to bat .267 with a .784 OPS on the season and sports a 5.59 ERA when pitching at night allowing opposing hitters to bat .250

Jung and the Rangers only scored seven total runs in their series against the Yankees so look for them to get their power back on track tonight against Detroit.

Take Jung to hit a home run tonight at +360 with other Rangers who have the potential for a home run include Adolis Garcia (+350) and Mitch Garver (+420) who specifically is 5-15 with two home runs against Boyd in his career.

Home Run Prop Prediction 1: Eugenio Suarez (+400)

Mariners third baseman Eugenio Suarez is 6-25 with three of those hits being home runs against Nationals starter Trevor Williams tonight.

Mostly all of those at-bats came back when Williams was a member of the Pirates and Suarez a member of the Reds as Suarez is losing pace from his 31-home run season just a year ago.

He’s hit six of his seven home runs this season against righties as well as six of seven during night games in which he bats .249 on the season. He’s picked up six hits in his last 15 at-bats so he’s seeing the ball well recently despite his lack of power.

Sure Suarez is aging but he still have great potential to hit a home run at any give time. Perhaps that time is tonight with Williams sporting a 4.42 road ERA and allowing seven home runs in 36.2 innings pitched.

Against righties on the season Williams has allowed eight home runs in 141 at-bats (one every 17 hitters). He’s allowed six home runs to left-handed hitters in 157 at-bats (one every 26 hitters) so he is more prone to giving up a home run to a right handed batter.

Take Suarez to hit a home run tonight at +400 with other Mariners hitters to look at for a home run include Teoscar Hernandez (+420) and Kolten Wong (+600) who is 8-21 with a home run against Williams in his career.
