Home Run Prop Prediction 1: Christian Yelich (+470)

Christian Yelich and the Brewers head from Atlanta to Washington to take on Jake Irvin and the Nationals today allowing five home runs across his last two starts against the Rockies and Giants.

The Nationals’ righty has allowed nine of his 13 total home runs against lefties along with a .280 batting average compared to allowing just a .234 batting average to righties. Ten of 13 home runs given up by Irvin have also come at home in just 54.1 innings pitched at Nationals Park.

Yelich hit a home run in yesterday’s loss against the Braves and has seven in total this month while batting .319.

His .617 slugging percentage for July is also top 15 among all players in the MLB with the Milwaukee outfielder batting .303 against righties on the season, and 13 of his 16 total home runs coming against right-handed pitching as well.

Take Yelich to hit a home run today at +470 with other Brewers to consider include Willy Adames (+330) and William Contreras (+470).

Home Run Prop Prediction 2: Trent Grisham (+500)

Lefty Austin Gomber takes the mound for the Rockies tonight at Coors Field facing Trent Grisham and the Padres kicking off a three-game series.

Yes, we’re aware of the fact Grisham is only batting .207 on the season and only .195 in July, but tonight is as good of chance of any for him to hit a home run.

This is a lefty vs lefty matchup in which Gomber has given up a .354 batting average and .695 slugging percentage to opposing left-handed hitters which includes giving up a home run every 11 at-bats compared to giving up one every 23 at-bats to right-handed hitters.

Grisham has favorable splits when facing opposing left-handed pitching sporting a .255 batting average and four of his six total home runs in 94 at-bats compared to his other six coming in 235 at-bats against righties.

For what it’s worth, the Padres center fielder has hit seven of his ten home runs on the road this season as well.

We expect the ball to be flying high once again at Coors Field tonight so take Grisham to hit a home run at +500 with other Padres who could potentially hit a home run include Juan Soto (+285) and Gary Sanches (+370).
