Daily MLB Home Run Prop Bets
Currently four players have double digit home runs this season but who would have thought that Astros left fielder Yordan Alvarez would be one of them? WagerTalk content contributor Kyle Kargel provides his home run prop picks and predictions for Monday, May 16 with odds provided by FanDuel.
Home Run Prop Prediction 1: Miguel Cabrera (+730)
You have to strike while the iron is hot and that’s the case here for picking Miguel Cabrera to hit one out of Tropicana Field tonight. Cabrera is riding a 6-game hitting streak including multi-hit games in his last three.
He also hit two home runs during their last series against the Orioles bringing his home run total to three on the season. We minus well take advantage of his hot bat even though he is well past the prime of his career.
In addition to his hot bat as of late, he also gets a juicy matchup with a familiar foe in Corey Kluber. He’s 25-69 in total with six home runs career against him and Tropicana Field offers a much easier opportunity to hit a home run than Comerica Park as the left field fence is 30 feet closer.
Home Run Prop Prediction 2: Justin Turner (+460)
Let’s stick with the veterans and in this prop pick go with Justin Turner against Madison Bumgarner.
In his last four season in which Turner played at least 130 games he’s hit 21-27 home runs and is well behind that pace so far this year with two and hasn’t performed as well against lefties as he has in years past.
What is encouraging though is he’s hit .320 over his past seven days and posts uplifting career numbers against Bumgarner. He’s 19-72 with four home runs against the Diamondbacks starter tonight. Look for Turner to swing aggressively as he knows he’s behind the pace he’d like to be at as far as home runs are concerned.
