Home Run Prop Prediction 1: Trea Turner (+390)
Trea Turner has finally rounded into midseason form during a June so far in which he has four home runs, four stolen bases and hitting .343.
He has a .310 average on the season and is hitting .500 against the Cincinnati Reds. More specifically against tonight’s starter Luis Castillo, Turner is 3-7 with one home run.
Castillo has definitely improved himself as of late pitching in at least six innings and giving up three earned runs or less in four straight starts. Two of those four starts were against the Diamondbacks and Nationals though.
His ERA stands at 3.33, but his home ERA specifically sits at 4.50 leaving him vulnerable for the Dodgers and specifically Turner to do some damage tonight. Especially when you consider the fact that the Great American Ball Park has allowed the second most home runs of any ball park in the MLB.
Turner is listed at (+370) but some other hitters from the Dodgers to consider are Freddie Freeman (+400) and Will Smith (+390).
Home Run Prop Prediction 2: Mike Trout (+240)
Are the Angels really going to get swept by the Royals at home? Not if Mike Trout has anything to do with it. He already has eight home runs this month and hits over .350 at home with 12 of his 21 home runs coming at Angel Stadium as well.
Angel Stadium has allowed the 3rd highest home runs of any ball park this season so far and Kansas City is sending Dainel Lynch to the mound tonight in which Trout hits over .350 against lefties on the season too.
Trout had a disappointing outing last night going 0-4 in a 12-11 extra innings loss and will want to rebound tonight in a juicy matchup facing Lynch.
Lynch’s ERA has increased each month and has allowed four home runs in his last three starts. Trout is +250 to hit a home run tonight while other Angels hitters to consider are Taylor Ward (+370) and Jared Walsh (+450).
