Home Run Prop Picks, Predictions and Odds 8/26/22
Today’s MLB Home Run Prop Bets For August 26
Paul Goldschmidt is making a serious run at the Triple Crown Award with two more home runs yesterday. WagerTalk content contributor Kyle Kargel provides his daily home run prop picks and predictions for Friday, August 26 with odds provided by PointsBet.
Home Run Prop Prediction 1: Kyle Schwarber (+215)
The National League’s leading home run hitter so far this season, Kyle Schwarber has seemed to have cooled off in the dog days of summer. While he is hitting .262 this month (compared to his .213 overall average), he only has two home runs.
One of those home runs did come last night against the Reds so maybe he’s finding his power groove once again. He’ll definitely have a chance to build off that tonight against the Pirates and Bryse Wilson.
Wilson allows left handed hitters to hit .338 off him so far this season along with eight home runs in 139 at-bats compared to seven allowed in 174 at-bats against righties.
He sports a 5.13 road ERA but has allowed seven home runs in 22.2 innings pitched in August so far coming out to one home run allowed every three innings or so.
Schwarber has hit 27 of his 35 home runs off righties this season and he’s hit .263 with two home runs in four games against Pittsburgh this season. Get Scwarber at +215 while other Phillies hitters to consider are Rhys Hoskins (+285) and Nick Castellanos (+320).
Home Run Prop Prediction 2: Adolis Garcia (+340)
Adolis Garcia finds himself in the midst of a 21-game hitting streak which includes two home runs during that span. While Garcia isn’t great against lefties, Alexander does allow right handed bats to get the best of him when contact is made.
Averages are similar when it comes to facing righties vs lefties but if we look past that we have some metrics that work in our favor here. Alexander allows a .439 slugging percentage vs righties compared to .353 vs lefties.
He also allows righties to generate a .748 OPS compared to .645 to lefties. While the Rangers seem to be all but out of the playoff race, they’re mathematically still in it sitting 10.5 games back of the AL wildcard.
They hold a +16 run differential on the season telling them they know they still have an outside shot. Get Garcia at +340, but other Rangers hitters to consider in these must win games are Marcus Semien (+340) and Corey Seager (+450).
