Home Run Prop Prediction 1: Adam Duvall (+350)
Adam Duvall is no stranger to hitting home runs blasting 33 in 2016 and 31 in 2017. Last year he hit 38 between the Marlins and Braves. This year has been a different story as Duvall only has two in 50 games.
What better place to start a power hitting streak than at Coors Field where the Braves play tonight. Duvall’s splits are pretty even when it comes to righty vs lefty matchups, but last year he hit significantly better on the road than at home with 22 of his 38 home runs coming on the road and his batting average was better as well hitting .252 compared to .202 at home.
Tonight’s starter for the Rockies Austin Gomber rolls out a 5.51 ERA and has allowed six home runs on the season. The Braves know in order to keep up with the Rockies at Coors Field they’ll need to score some runs and Duvall has to get his bat going.
Look for him to take advantage of the opportunity playing in Denver where the ball is known to fly out of the park at a high rate.
Home Run Prop Prediction 2: Tyrone Taylor (+590)
Lefty Sean Manaea has given up eight home runs this season and the Brewers are hurt by injuries to top home run hitters like Willy Adames and Hunter Renfroe.
With other top guys like Christian Yelich and Rowdy Tellez being left handed hitters, let’s look at outfielder Tyrone Taylor who has been getting his power going as of late. He has six home runs on the season with five of them coming in the last half of May.
He already has a home run against San Diego in nine at-bats at Petco Park. Taylor hits for average better at home at .275 compared to .228 on the road giving us a better chance for him to hit one tonight playing at Miller Park.
For what it’s worth, Manaea has given up five home runs in his last four starts. Taylor’s bat has been hot as of late so at +590 we get some solid odds here.
