NRFI Prediction 1: Nationals vs Mets (-113)

The Mets have the 8th worst batting average of any team against lefties as they take on MacKenzie Gore and the Nationals tonight.

Gore has already made easy work of the Mets already this season back on April 26th going six innings allowing one run (not in first inning) while striking out 10. When playing on the road the Mets are the worst team scoring in the first inning of any MLB team.

While playing at home the Nationals are middle of the pack in that category. The Mets send out Tylor Megill who hasn’t been the best in the first inning but has only allowed five hits in 21 at-bats to current Nationals hitters. The games the Mets have won this year are due in part to their pitching.

They’re 2-7 in their past nine games with those two wins coming by scores of 1-0 and 2-1 so expect Megill to be on his A-game coming out of the games. Play on a NRFI in this Nationals vs Mets game at -113 with first pitch coming around 7:05pm ET.

NRFI Prediction 2: Twins vs Cubs (-130)

Sonny Gray takes his impressive 4-0 record and 1.35 ERA into his home start tonight taking on Drew Smyly and the Cubs.

Gray’s already impressive ERA comes even further down to 0.72 when pitching at home allowing just two runs in 25 innings pitched.

Overall he’s allowed a first inning run just once over his seven starts this season. Smyly has been stellar in the first inning as well not allowing a first inning run in five of his last six starts. Both the Cubs and Twins sit in the bottom half of the MLB in runs scored during the first inning overall.

When the Twins play at home their 4th worst in runs scored in the first with the Cubs sitting in the middle of the pack when they’re on the road. Play on a NRFI bet in this Twins vs Cubs matchup at -130 with first pitch set for 8:10pm ET.
