NRFI Prediction 1: Marlins vs Orioles (-115)

The Marlins and Orioles open up the second half with an interleague series against one another starting tonight at 7:05pm ET. Sandy Alcantara goes up against Dean Kremer as both teams are bottom five in first inning scoring among all MLB teams this season.

Despite Alcantara’s overall mediocre stats, he’s been solid in the first inning holding opponents scoreless in 15 of 18 starts this season.

Kremer’s first inning stats haven’t been great this season but considering the Marlins struggles in the first inning on offense we’re willing to play on a NRFI in this matchup.

Both of these teams were hot entering the all-star break, but with the four-day layoff it may take the bats a few innings to get going again.

Both Alcantara and Kremer are coming off starts where they each went 6+ innings allowing only one run each so play on a Marlins vs Orioles NRFI tonight at -115.

NRFI Prediction 2: Red Sox vs Cubs (-111)

When playing on the road the Red Sox are by far the worst first inning scoring team in the MLB this season!

They head to Chicago to take on Kyle Hendricks and the Cubs tonight as Hendricks hasn’t allowed a first inning run in six of his past eight starts. Brayan Bello gets the start for the road Red Sox who hasn’t allowed a first inning run in 12 of his 15 starts on the season including four of five in road starts.

The Cubs are the second worst first inning scoring team on the season overall while playing to a NRFI in eight of their previous ten games before the all-star break.

The Red Sox held opponents scoreless in the first inning in five of six games before the break so play on a Red Sox vs Cubs NRFI tonight at -111 before first pitch at 8:05pm ET.
