NRFI Prediction 1: Reds vs Nationals (-102)

The Reds haven’t allowed a first inning run in five straight games heading into their 3rd of a 4-game series with the Nationals today. Graham Ashcraft takes the mound for Cincinnati who hasn’t allowed a first inning run in 13 of his 15 starts on the season.

The Nationals have played to a NRFI in three of their last five games while not scoring a run in the first inning in any of them.

Josiah Gray starts for the Nationals tonight as he hasn’t given up a first inning run in 14 of his 17 total starts on the season. Although the Reds offense has been stellar so far this season, they’re the seventh worst scoring team in the first inning on the road.

Gray has only allowed one earned run in his last two starts (11.1 IP) as Ashcraft went 6.2 innings allowing only one earned run in his last start against San Diego. Play on a Reds vs Nationals NRFI tonight at -102 with first pitch slated for 7:05pm ET.

NRFI Prediction 2: Braves vs Guardians (+114)

The Guardians haven’t scored in the first inning in 14 straight games as that streak gets put to the test tonight against Mike Soroka and the Braves.

The Atlanta righty hasn’t allowed a first inning run in all three of his starts with Cal Quantrill getting the start for the Guardians who hasn’t allowed a first inning run in five of his last seven starts despite his 6.18 ERA.

Current Braves hitters bat just .214 collectively against Quantrill with the Braves and Guardians playing to a NRFI in the first two games of this series already.

Overall on the season the Atlanta is the best first inning scoring team which is why we get valuable +114 odds for a NRFI to occur again in this Braves vs Guardians matchup with the series concluding tonight. First pitch is set for 7:10pm ET.
