NRFI Prediction 1: Tigers vs Red Sox (-104)

Chris Sale makes his return off the IL starting tonight for the first time since June 1. He and the Red Sox welcome Tarik Skubal and the Tigers to Fenway Park looking to extend their 3-game winning streak.

Before going on the IL Sale hadn’t allowed a first inning run in nine of 11 starts including eight straight with Skubal not allowing a first inning run in all six starts this season and ten straight dating back to last season.

The Red Sox are currently riding a 5-game NRFI streak with the Tigers coming off a NRFI in yesterday’s series finale vs the Twins and are the sixth worst first inning scoring team in the MLB.

Both of these teams are currently fighting for their playoff lives so we expect pitchers to be on their A-game out of the gates tonight. Play on a Tigers vs Red Sox NRFI tonight at -111 with first pitch set for 7:10pm ET.

NRFI Prediction 2: Brewers vs White Sox (+102)

Corbin Burnes and the Brewers head to Chicago for a interleague series against the White Sox sending Michael Kopech to the mound.

Current White Sox batters only hit .217 off Burnes as the Milwaukee starter hasn’t allowed a first inning run in 17 of 23 starts this season including eight straight.

Although Kopech’s overall numbers aren’t great, his first inning numbers are not allowing a first inning run in 16 of 21 starts including four straight.

Both the Brewers and White Sox sport overall team batting averages that are bottom 10 in the MLB as the White Sox have played in three straight games resulting in a NRFI.

The Brewers have played to a NRFI in four of their past five games so play on another tonight in this Brewers vs White Sox matchup at -125 starting up at 8:10pm ET.
