Pitcher Prop Prediction 1: Steven Matz Under 15.5 Outs (-105)
St Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Steven Matz is having a forgettable season with an 0-7 record, 4.86 ERA and 1.51 WHIP across 76 innings of work.
He has fallen short of 16+ outs recorded in his last four starts. Matz was used out of the bullpen exclusively from late May until early July.

Pitcher Prop Prediction 2: J.P. France Over 18.5 Outs (+120)
Houston Astros starting pitcher J.P. France has been a rock solid #4 starter with a 4-3 record, 3.31 ERA and 1.26 WHIP. France has cleared 18.5 outs recorded in four of his last seven games while landing on 18 exactly in two of the other three outings.
The Oakland Athletics lineup ranks bottom five across the board against right-handed pitching at 29th in wOBA (.288), 27th in ISO (.132), 25th in wRC+ (87) and dead last in OPS (.650). They have scored only nine runs across six games against the Houston Astros during the 2023 campaign.
The Astros have needed to utilize seven different bullpen arms over the course of their last two games in the altitude of Coors Field.
Look for the Astros to lean on France for a longer outing against a vulnerable opponent. Regardless, France has consistently hovered around six innings of work and should make quick work of this Oakland lineup and record 19+ outs tonight.
