2024 PFL Week 5 Predictions

Impa Kasanganay -395 vs Jakob Nedoh +310

Here’s another case where Impa will know what he needs in this fight, and that will determine how aggressive he is early.

Impa should clearly win this as he has the power advantage and a huge takedown and wrestling advantage so I think he can pick where this fight takes place and win there. Based on how the night unfolds, he probably will need a finish so the play is Impa by Inside The Distance.

Robert Wilkinson -270 vs Josh Silveira +220

I’ve never seen a run of luck like what Silveira has had. His last “win” was win Sadibou Sy broke his thumb 1 minute into the fight and Silveira gets credited with a first round KO.

Four fights ago his opponent took an awkward stop and blew out his knee giving Silveira credit for another first round KO.

However, in last seasons finale, Impa Kasanganay pieced him up bad for 5 rounds, and I think as long as Wilkinson doesn’t have a fluke injury, he finishes Silveira.

Silveira doesn’t have a good gas tank, and Wilkinson looked like a man on a mission in his last fight against Tom Breese as he got the early finish. I look for WIlkinson to overwhelm early and get the win by finish.

Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov -360 vs Simon Biyong +285

I think Yags is better, and I’m not high on Biyong at all, but there’s a concern about Yags’s cardio and what happens if he doesn’t get Biyong out of there early.

Here’s the thing, Yags will need to get him out of there early because he needs the points so I expect a big flurry from him, but if he blows his energy, he’ll be ripe to fall off a cliff and get finished when he gets exhausted.

Yags has the superior striking, and by far the better ground game so I expect Yags to get Biyong down on the ground early, but this could be a parlay buster. It’s a great live betting opportunity if you see Yags starting to get tired.

Brent Primus -180 vs Solomon Renfro +150

I’m not a Renfro fan as I think he’s raw, and not ready for some of these better PFL guys. He has power, but he doesn’t set up his shots, and his defense is very lacking.

His other weakness is his ground game, and that’s where Primus thrives. I don’t see Primus wasting much time getting this fight to the ground where he will dominate, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Renfro gets worn down and finished.

I think -180 is a great price, and getting Primus to win by finish might be a sneaky play as well.

2024 PFL Week 5 Main Event: Clay Collard -290 vs Mads Burnell +235

I don’t think this fight sets up well for Burnell. This fight is at elevation, and Collard has the massive cardio advantage, and I think he also has the striking volume advantage as well.

Burnell won’t be worried to stand and bang with Collard, but we’ve seen Collard pull away late in fights, and Burnell slow down in fights. The interesting thing about this fight is how the points work in the PFL.

By the time this fight comes around, Collard and Burnell will know what they need to advance so it could be Collard playing it safe and just trying to win by decision or he could need a finish, but we won’t know that til the night of. Don’t play a prop in this fight, just settle on Collard to win.
