BKFC Fight Night Miami Predictions
Rosalinda Rodriguez -600 v Monica Franco +400
Rodriguez is the biggest favorite on the card, and I agree with the linemakers. Rodriguez is undefeated in her boxing and bare-knuckle fighting career, and she has all the proper stances and form of a boxer.
She has good volume, accuracy and she has power, but isn’t too aggressive and she has a good guard and movement to avoid big shots.
Franco barely won her first bare-knuckle fight by split decision agaisnt Khortni Kamyron, who is a lackluster fighter. Franco comes from an MMA background and almost had a point deducted because she almost threw a leg kick.
She was very low volume to the point the ref had to encourage action from the fighters. She’s not a natural boxer, and Rodriguez will piece her up, and I’m not worried about the random KO as Franco doesn’t have that kind of power.
Murat Kilimetov -650 v Tre Cook +475
Why is this fight interesting? Well, neither of them have been in a Bare Knuckle Boxing match or any other boxing match. All MMA fights, and neither of them have fought since 2020.
Tre Cook has lost his last 4 MMA fights by submission, but there are no submissions in Bare Knuckle. That being said, Cook is 38 years. Kilimetov should be more crisp and disciplined, but I’m not laying this juice. Fight is a pass.
Joshua Alvarez -500 v Brandon Meyer +375
Here’s another case where I lean to the favorite, but the -500 price tag is just a lot to invest in. Meyer is 1-1 in BKFC with his loss being to Sean Wilson who is in the main event, but Meyer was outclassed in that fight showing he’s probably not ready for the big fights just yet, but he took Wilson the distance and showed good toughness.
In his first fight, he knocked out Shane Moffitt who is terrible, and I think Alvarez is a nice test for him, and this fight should be way closer than the odds suggest.
Alvarez is 4-3 in BKFC, but his last two wins have come against guys who have a combined record of 0-8 in boxing and bare-knuckle boxing. No way I’m betting -500 on Alvarez, the value is on Meyer +375.
Eduardo Concepcion -290 v Brian Jackson +230
I’m not high on Jackson so Concepcion will be the pick. Both guys aren’t great, and they both just lost to the same guy (Doug Coltrane), but when looking at the fights, Concepcion took Coltrane the distance and was at least competitive despite the fact he got beat up in the fight. Jackson didn’t seem like he had any offense to mount, and his defense was non-existent.
Neither of these guys have fought in a while, and this fight could be wild at the beginning if one of them tries to land the early KO, but I’m not sure Jackson has what it takes to get the KO, and if he doesn’t get the KO early I see Concepcion pulling away.
Markus Suarez -215 v Drew Nolan +175
This is a rematch where the favorite lost the first match because of a doctor’s stoppage, and the fight was very close, but Nolan was pushing the pressure a bit more and was not afraid to eat shots from Suarez to get inside and land his own shots.
Both guys got cut, but give Nolan credit as he did more damage and got the win. Now, if you would see what these guys look like with their shirts off, you would make Suarez a -500 favorite as he’s chisled, taller and looks like a boxer while Nolan looks like someone that frequents happy hours.
In fact, Nolan is 1-7 in his boxing career with his last fight being his only win, but Suarez is now 0-3 in his career and I think a sprinkle on the underdog is worth it as I don’t think Nolan’s skills match his physique. I’ll take Nolan to make it 2-0 against Suarez.
Wayna Reid -260 v Jim Pulgar +200
Jim Pulgar has no business being in this fight, he’s going to get smoked. He has two exhibition fights, and he looks awful. Slow punches, bad footwork, and he’s lost both those exhibition fights to terrible fighters.
He’s fighting Wayna Reid who is 0-1 in BKFC, but his loss is to Tony Soto who is 2-0 as a boxer, and he’s 6-0 in BKFC, and Reid took him to the 4th round where the fight was stopped because Soto landed a great punch to the eye that make Reid’s eye swell shut, but Reid looked pretty good and I can’t emphasize enough how big of a step down in competition this is.
Reid has much better footwork, and the much more crisp striking. He should win by KO.
BKFC Fight Night Miami Main Event: Howard Davis -400 vs Sean Wilson +300
I believe that Davis should win, but wow this is a steep price. Davis is 5-2, and coming off a loss, but his loss was a decision loss to the Champion, Kai Stewart.
Davis fought well, but Kai Stewart has insane pace and volume, and got the better of the scorecards, but Davis landed plenty of good shots, and was not overmatched by much.
Sean Wilson has good pace and volume, but he’s 41 years old, and is 3-1 in BKFC against lesser competition than what Davis has faced.
Davis looks to be a bit more quick with his strikes, and probably has the better movement which will eventually let him pull ahead. I can’t lay -400, but I like Davis to win this fight, and I think this fight probably goes the distance.
