This fight features two immovable of the heavyweight division. Curtis Blaydes is 6-1 in his last seven, while Tom Aspinall is a perfect 5-0 inside the UFC octagon.

Curtis Blaydes joined the UFC in 2016 as a highly-touted prospect with a high-level wrestling pedigree. In the past, he’s fallen short in his most enormous opportunities. He’s lost both bouts to now champion Francis Ngannou while also losing to Derick Lewis in a No. 1 contender matchup.

Tom Aspinall has been on the fast track since joining the UFC in 2020, as he’s passed every test put in front of him with flying colors. He gets the unique opportunity to headline in front of his home country for the second time in as many fights.

Home Turf

Tom Aspinall is the real deal and proved it in his last fight, in which he made UFC veteran and top-10 mainstay Alexander Volkov look like a novice. Aspinall is a lifelong martial artist as he started to compete in high-level BJJ tournaments at a young age while also pursuing training in boxing as a teenager before transitioning into MMA.

Aspinall offers a very well-rounded skill set as he’s delivered nine victories via TKO/KO while finding three submission victories in his career. Aspinall has the advantage on the feet with his speed and sharpness in this matchup.

The Razor

Curtis Blaydes has been working towards a championship fight since joining the UFC in 2016 and is on the cusp of that reality again on Saturday. Blaydes has put together one of the most impressive win lists you’ll ever see for someone at the age of 31 in the prime of his career.

Blaydes has a stellar wrestling background as he went undefeated in his senior year of high school. Blaydes made a statement in his last fight against Chris Daukaus as he found a knockout in Round 2 while dominating the entirety of the battle. Blaydes will look to use his wrestling skills to control Aspinall while being careful when dealing with his BJJ skills.

Curtis Blaydes vs Tom Aspinall Prediction

Styles make fights, and this matchup should offer a very fan-friendly fight as everywhere this fight goes, there’s a tremendous opportunity for finishes. Both guys have the unique ability to win this fight on the feet and ground. Expect an action-packed fight, which is why we’re looking toward the under 2.5 rounds, which is widely available at -105 at the time of posting.
