DWCS 10 Predictions

Mohamed Ado +114 vs Jonathan Micallef -145

Ado is going to want to get this to the ground where he can work his submission game, and Micallef is going to do whatever he can to stuff the takedown because he’s a much more powerful striker than Ado.

Micallef is going to be the more aggressive fighter, and he’s going to throw some wild punches and kicks so Ado will have to avoid them, and take advantage of them at the same time as Micallef leaves himself wide open for counters.

Micallef is a really powerful guy, but Ado is more measured and calculated, and that’s who I give the edge to, but this is going to be a really close fight.

Micallef can win with his striking, but I think Ado avoids the big shots, gets it on the ground and wins a close one. Just to be clear, I’m not betting this fight with my money though.

Julieta Martinez -135 vs Leslie Hernandez +105

There isn’t a lot of film on Martinez, but she looks fairly similar to Hernandez in that both women are aggressive, they throw strikes, and they like controlling on the ground.

Hernandez is coming a couple of nice wins in LFA, and her last fight was a three-round battle and she showed a lot of heart winning the third round with ground control, and fantastic cardio.

This may sound strange, but when these fighters without much film on them are favorites on Contender Series, I feel like they end up winning more often than not.

I lean Martinez, but I think these two are pretty equal, and I think this goes the distance so taking the fight over will be what I’m looking at here to wager on.

Yadier DelValle -120 vs Antonio Monteiro -110

Honestly, neither of these guys excites me. DelValle isn’t a great striker, and he accepts position on the bottom to work for guillotines, and while he’s gotten away with it to this point, it’s just not a style that will work long-term, and it may not work here as Monteiro is athletic and has pretty decent defense on the ground, and honestly it didn’t work in DelValle’s last fight as the fight went the distance with DelValle’s not being able to complete many submission attempts.

His opponent didn’t do anything and DelValle got the decision win, but it was a pretty uneventful fight. Monteiro isn’t anything to write home about either as I’ve seen him strike for long periods of time, but he does have submissions on his resume.

He has really good cardio as does DelValle, and I’ll lean to Monteiro in this one as his striking should be better than DelValle’s, and if DelValle doesn’t get the submission, I see very little upside. Monteiro by decision for me in this one.

Nick Piccininni -120 vs Luis Gurule -110

Piccininni won earlier in the season, but Dana White didn’t like it so he made them have a rematch for this week, and Piccininni’s opponent pulled out so he gets to face Gurule as a last minute replacement, and I think Dana wanted Piccininni to lose so he could give the contract to the other guy he liked.

Now he gets to watch Piccininni win another fight he isn’t going to like, and I’ll be interested to see if he gives him a contract. Piccininni likes to wrestle and grapple, and his striking isn’t dynamic, but on the ground he’s much better, and I don’t think he’s going to struggle getting Gurule down and winning on the ground.

Gurule is primarily a striker, but he hasn’t knocked anyone out in his last 4 fights, and his submission win last fight was so random.

They were on the feet, and his opponent threw a punch and fell into a standing arm triangle that Gurule used to take him down and finish the submission off in the first.

I don’t think his striking is going to intimidate anyone, especially Piccininni, and even though Piccininni fought earlier this season, Gurule fought on Sept. 22 and the fight went 4 rounds before the finish.

Gurule doesn’t look like he does much damage to opponents, and at faceoffs, Piccininni was a bit bigger than him which is going to help Piccininni in the wrestling and so I think he has a strong performance. I do think this fight goes the distance as these guys are pretty equal and I don’t see who can get a finish.

DWCS 2024 Week 10 Every Fight Breakdown Bets, Tips, Predictions, Odds – Dana White Contender Series

DWCS Week 10 Main Event: Nick Klein vs Heraldo Souza

This is a fight I have a small interest in the underdog as Souza will be looking to strike, but I think Klein will be looking for the takedown where he should have success.

I watched Souze get really tired two fights ago against Filho when the fight went to the ground, and even though he got the KO in the second, he was exhausted, and Filho just gassed a bit worse.

This is not a good main event honestly, this could be two guys tired in the 2nd and 3rd round with Klein absorbing punches on the feet, but Souza struggling if Klein gets the takedown.

I’ll pick Klein for the purposes of this article, but this is a tough matchup to predict, and I don’t find it a fight I want to bet on.
