Nassourdine Imavov has been nothing short of impressive since signing with the promotion in 2020 and has now strung together three wins over some excellent competition. Strickland is his biggest test to date, and he’ll have to deliver a complete 25-minute performance to leave the victor.
Sean Strickland is a character love him or hate him. He’s delivered in the win column as he’s gone 11-5 since joining the UFC in 2014 and is looking to rebound after a very tight decision loss against former title challenger Jared Cannonier.

He’s highly well-rounded as he offers his opponents problems in both the striking and grappling realm while having some real nastiness and edge that we saw in his last performance against Buckley.
He’s been very sharp in the striking game as he’s outlander his opponents by 1.65 significant strikes per minute over his 5 UFC fights. In this matchup, the grappling exchanges will be critical for Imavov, who doesn’t want a full-on kickboxing match against the lengthy Strickland.

Strickland fell short against Cannonier in a highly entertaining war as he got edged out by the power and efficiency of Cannonier, which outmatched his output and pressure.
He can get a clean slate and gain some momentum with a win over surging contender Imavov in a matchup that sets up reasonably well for him over five rounds with all his main event history.
Strickland will follow his standard game plan of attempting to strike and pressure his opponent into mistakes and search for openings while draining their gas tank.

This is a competitive matchup, and if it was a 3-round fight, I might lean toward Imavov. Still, I like Strickland over five rounds to implement a strong game plan and overwhelm Imavov with his pressure and output while keeping this fight on the feet.
