UFC Fight Night: Neil Magney vs Carlos Prates

UFC 276 Main Card Predictions and Betting Odds

UFC 276 returns to T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada on Saturday, July 2 to kick off eight consecutive weekends of fights, including three PPV events. Saturday’s card is headlined by not one, but two championship bouts, as Israel Adesanya looks to defend his middleweight title against Jared Cannonier, and Alexander Volkanovski gears up to take on Max Holloway in a much-anticipated trilogy bout.

Sean Strickland vs Alex Pereira

Saturday, July 2 UFC 276 Betting Notes (Courtesy of Caesars)
Moneyline: Sean Strickland -115 vs Alex Pereira -105
Rounds: 1.5 Rounds (Over -165 / Under +145)
Fight Time: Main Card Starts at 10:00pm ET / 7:00pm PT
Arena: T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas
TV: ESPN+ Pay Per View

Originally scheduled for UFC 277, this fight between middleweight strikers could potentially earn Fight of the Night honors. Strickland (25-3), known for his unfiltered, no-nonsense attitude and a stout jab, faces a battle-tested opponent in Alex Pereira.

Pereria (5-1), known mainly for his two kickboxing wins against Israel Adesanya, only has two UFC fights under his belt, but his flying knee KO of Andreas Michailidis in his UFC debut definitely secured some spotlight. The winner of this bout should be in line for a title shot, or a number-one-contender fight at the very least.

Strickland enters the bout having won his last six fights, most recently defeating Jack Hermansson in gritty split-decision. Pereira comes in on a five-fight win-streak, dating back to his previous MMA outfits, with Strickland being the toughest fighter he’ll have fought in the Octagon thus far.

Considering both of these fighters’ “kill or be killed” mentality, MMA fans and bettors should be in store for a bloody battle.

Pick: Fight Does NOT Go the Distance -170 (Caesars).

Robbie Lawler vs Bryan Barbarena

Saturday, July 2 UFC 276 Betting Notes (Courtesy of Caesars)
Moneyline: Robbie Lawler -125 vs Bryan Barbarena +105
Rounds: 2.5 Rounds (Over -175 / Under +155)

Former welterweight champion Robbie Lawler returns to the Octagon on Saturday for a bout with Bryan Barbarena. Originally scheduled for the prelims, this fight was elevated to the Main Card after the Lauren Murphy-Miesha Tate matchup was postponed for two weeks due to COVID Protocols.

Lawler (29-15-1NC) ended his three year drought with a win over MMA legend Nick Diaz at UFC 266 last year, and he’s looking to keep the success rolling for his 46th bout. Barbarena (17-8) is riding back-to-back wins, including a Fight of the Night decision victory against Matt Brown in late March.

With Barbarena having earned a split-decision in his last bout against Matt Brown, and considering how fresh Lawler looked in his fight with Nick Diaz, getting the former champ, even at 40 years old, seems like the best value in this matchup.

Pick: Robbie Lawler -125 (Caesars)

Pedro Munhoz vs Sean O’Malley Analysis

Saturday, July 2 UFC 276 Betting Notes (Courtesy of Caesars)
Moneyline: Sean O’Malley -290 vs Pedro Munhoz +245
Rounds: 2.5 Rounds (Over -120 / Under EV)

The self-proclaimed “undefeated” Sugar Sean O’Malley steps back into the Octagon for a bout with crafty veteran Pedro Munhoz. This is O’Malley’s toughest test since his TKO loss to Marlon “Chito” Vera in 2020. O’Malley has been nothing short of brilliant since the loss to Chito, and despite facing an intelligent opponent in Munhoz, the betting odds tell a story in themselves.

In 27 fights, Munhoz has never lost by finish, all seven of his losses coming by decision, and his last five fights have ended the same way. One thing to note is that Munhoz stands 5’6” with a 65” reach, while O’Malley is 5’11” with a 72” reach. O’Malley’s last three fights ended in knockout fashion, however two of them happened in the latter halves of the third rounds against much weaker opponents than Munhoz.

Pick: O’Malley by Decision +200 (Caesars)
Super Small Sprinkle: Munhoz by Submission (+900 Caesars, +1100 DraftKings).
