Former champion and two-division title challenger Jessica Andrade takes on surging contender Amanda Lemos as the headliner for UFC Vegas 52 on Saturday, April 23. Most are viewing this as a No. 1 ontender match to face current champion Rose Namajunas, as Andrade already has a win over Namajunas and Lemos is undefeated since entering the 115-pound division.

Jessica Andrade vs Amanda Lemos Analysis
These ladies will be looking to put on a show and leave no doubt in the mind of Dana White on who’s next in line for the belt Sunday morning. Jessica Andrade has been arguably the most entertaining fighter in Strawweight history, with 57% of her UFC Strawweight victories coming inside the distance.
Amanda Lemos has finished three out of her five opponents since making a move to Strawweight and will look to build on her five-fight win streak on Saturday and become the first non-champion to defeat Andrade at 115 pounds. She’ll have to do so as an underdog, where only one out of the last ten underdogs have won UFC main events.

Amanda Lemos started her UFC career competing at Bantamweight but quickly learned it wasn’t the weight class for her to chase the ultimate goal of becoming a UFC world champion. 2021 was a breakout year for Amanda as she was highly active while compiling three victories, including a unanimous decision victory over UFC Veteran Angela Hill, which earned Lemos this massive opportunity in her first career UFC main event. She’ll look to use her striking at range while picking apart Andrade as she attempts to close the distance.

Jessica Andrade has to be confident, knowing she’s been going toe to toe with the best UFC fighters across three different weight divisions for the entirety of her UFC career. While Lemos will offer a very crisp and effective striking attract at range, we’ve seen Andrade bulldog her way into the clinch and inside of elite fighters and unleash the most potent strikes the division has ever seen. Her past four victories have all come by way of TKO/KO.
