Shriners Children’s 500 Track: Phoenix Raceway

Phoenix is a one-mile track that is low-banked, and it really doesn’t have tracks on the NASCAR circuit that it’s the same as.

It’s not as big as the cookie cutters like Texas or Kansas, but it’s bigger than the small tracks like Martinsville, and it’s made of a different surface than tracks like Darlington or Dover.

Shriners Children’s 500 Head-to-Head Prediction

Ryan Blaney over Ross Chastain (-125)

I was high on Blaney last week and he delivered a 3rd place finish, one spot ahead of Chastain and now we are at Phoenix, which is arguably Blaney’s favorite track.

As noted above, Chastain has run well here, but Blaney is better than everyone else here and it’s not really that close. These guys should both run well if they avoid trouble, but Blaney is a bet on this week for sure.

Shriners Children’s 500 Top 10 Pick

Brad Keselowski (+100)

Brad’s car has been getting better over the last couple seasons, and it looks like he’s got a car that can compete for top 10s and top 5s this season so this might be a good opportunity to get +100 on him.

This tracks is about handling and driving, and not so much about pure horsepower so his car should be competitive and we know he’s a Championship caliber driver.

He had a respectable 13th place finish last week so he was sniffing the top 10, and this price is good enough to get my attention.

Shriners Children’s 500 Manufacturer Winner Prediction

Chevy has won all three races so far, and it’s hard to get away from them at +125 so I’ll play them to win this race. I’ll protect myself by putting a sprinkle on Ford at +200 as Blaney and Logano run well here so if Chevy or Ford win, I can turn a profit.
