NBA All-Star Game Player Props Predictions # 1: Tyrese Haliburton, Pacers OVER 17.5 Points (-102) FanDuel

Indiana Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle recently lifted Haliburton’s minutes restriction from his January hamstring injury, just in time for him to light it up on his home court.

Haliburton is averaging a league high 11.7 assists per game but has also averaged a career high 21.8 points per game while leading the Pacers to the 6th best record in the Eastern Conference.

Haliburton’s shooting splits have also been elite at 49.2% from the field, 40% from three-point land and 85.2% from the charity stripe. Rust won’t be an issue for Haliburton as he’s participating in not only the three-point competition but also the NBA Skills competition.

He will be one of the representatives for “Team Pacers” along with Myles Turner and Benedict Mathurin in a competition between three teams of three that will compete in a battle of fundamentals.

Doc Rivers has been a part of this league for a long time, and he knows that the crowd wants to see a tremendous effort from the player that has become the face of their franchise.

We know Haliburton will start and we know he will get plenty of minutes and shooting opportunities which is more than we can say for others.

Look for Haliburton to be motivated by the crowd and 18+ points is a reasonable ask in a game with a total sitting at 364.

NBA Player Props Picks #2: Jalen Brunson, Knicks UNDER 11.5 Points (-104) FD

Jalen Brunson will be the lone representative for the New York Knicks in Indianapolis as Julius Randle will miss the game due to a dislocated shoulder.

After the trade deadline, the Knicks looked unstoppable with a 15-2 stretch but since then they have become a “walking wounded” unit and lost five of their last six games.

Mitchell Robinson remains out after ankle surgery, OG Anunoby just had elbow surgery and Donte DiVincenzo and Isaiah Hartenstein have both missed time recently.

Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau was asked about his teams four-game losing streak entering the break and said that there’s work to be done, it’s time for a good recharge, take a look at where we are at and just prepare for the restart.

Jalen Brunson was asked a similar question and said, “this break is obviously good for us, I’m happy with what we have been able to do but this is just a quick restart and just be ready to go next week.” Brunson is also banged up and missed one of his last six games due to a sprained ankle.

Like Haliburton, Brunson is part of the three-point competition but unlike Brunson it may hurt his scoring form. When asked about his first practice with ball racks “It went terrible, I didn’t hit a shot so hopefully that changes soon. It’s a little different and unorthodox.”

This is Brunson’s first All-Star game which tends to be a motivating factor for an over. However, it sounds like he’s just happy to be there and get some rest before the final playoff push.

The three-point competition may leave him in a funk and Thibodeau is a protege of Eastern Conference head coach Doc Rivers having served under him as an assistant for three years in Boston (during the Celtics last title run).

Rivers may give Thibodeau the respect of not pushing his banged-up superstar into too many minutes and that could ultimately limit his production.
