It’s also interesting that Lillard outlasted Hield in the finals of the 2023 contest, outscoring him 26 to 25. Lillard is having his best long distance shooting season since 2020-21 by making 38.2 percent of his threes on more than nine attempts per game.

His shooting mechanics are well suited for rapid fire shooting and his experience in winning give him an edge over the majority of the field.

2025 NBA Three-Point Contest Prediction #2: Naz Reid Minnesota Timberwolves Over 17.5 Points (-104) FD

The Cleveland Cavaliers have the best record in the Eastern Conference, and they will be represented by Darius Garland who is a legitimate threat to Lillard’s quest to three-peat.

The 25-year-old has turned himself into one of the top sharpshooters in the league, his 43.1% from beyond the arc is the best mark of any player in the field and his 156 three-pointers made trail only Tyler Herro.

Garland also enters the break on a hot streak, knocking down 44.6% of his long-distance shots in the Cavaliers last 10 games.

More importantly, his pull-up three-point percentage is 41.2% which is one of the best marks in the league and indicative of the style of shooting in this competition. Garland’s quick trigger should serve him well in this event.
