NBA Player Props Predictions: Trae Young Atlanta Hawks Under 10.5 Assists (-125) DK

Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young averaged 10.7 assists during the 2023 campaign and he recorded 11+ assists in 56% of his games.

However, Young has fallen short of this line in eight straight games against the Brooklyn Nets including both head-to-head games last season where he recorded only 9 dimes.

Brooklyn actually allowed the 7th fewest assists overall (25.19/game) and the 6th fewest assists to opposing point guards (8.28/game) last season.

Despite being one of the worst teams in the NBA, the Nets were middle of the pack in points allowed and they actually have some solid defenders like Nic Claxton, Dennis Schroder and Dorian Finney-Smith.

Without Dejounte Murray in the mix, I see Young taking more of the scoring ownness on himself and it also gives him one less mouth to feed. This line is already juiced to -136 on FD so we can still take advantage of the DK -125 line.

NBA Player Props Predictions: Tyus Jones Phoenix Suns Over 6.5 Assists (-135) DK

Last season, Tyus Jones set career highs with 7.3 assists and 29.3 minutes per game while stepping out from behind Ja Morant’s shadow as a member of the Washington Wizards.

It was Jones first true opportunity as a starter, and he shined despite playing on a team that finished one loss away from the worst record in the NBA.

Now he’s joined a Phoenix Suns team with scorers like Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal. Booker led the team with 6.9 assists per game, but the addition of Jones will allow him to move back into his natural spot as a shooting guard.

The Suns were a top 10 scoring team (116.2/game) that ranked 5th in shooting with a 49.3 field goal percentage.

Despite playing with an inferior Wizards team, Jones recorded 7 and 9 assists in his two head-to-head games against the Los Angeles Clippers last season.

Phoenix is favored by -5 points as the Clippers open the season without Kawhi Leonard and the total is set 225 so there should be plenty of room for Jones to post 7+ dimes.
