Boston Celtics vs Brooklyn Nets Analysis
If game two is anywhere near as good as game one, we’re in for a treat tonight as the Celtics will be at home as a -3.5 point favorite, and the total is set at 226. Let’s dissect this game and find a best bet.
Boston Buzzer Beater
Tatum’s last second shot changed so many bets, it was crazy. Celtics ML, Tatum Points Prop, Celtics Team Total, Marcus Smart Assists all went from unders to overs on that one shot, and it goes down in the books as a Brooklyn cover.
The Celtics got contributions from all the starters (except Theis), and at the end of the day the books pretty much nailed the total number and spread as both landed within a few points of the closing number.
Boston being a -3.5 favorite seems like a fair price, but they needed a buzzer beater to win, and they avoided a big Durant game.
They weathered the Kyrie storm, but if Durant shows up and goes off it could be a tough game. I’m not excited to lay points with Boston tonight.
Kyrie vs The World
The big storyline coming out of game one was, of course, Kyrie vs the Boston fans, but there were some encouraging things for them and some alarming things from the first game of the series.
Encouraging: Kyrie looked great, Dragic was fantastic coming off the bench, and Claxton looked playoff ready. Alarming: Curry does not look healthy, Bruce Brown played the quietest 37 minutes ever, and Drummond is such a liability, but they have to play him some minutes because they have no other options.
Like always, this team will ride or die based on Kyrie’s and Durant’s production, and while they combined for 62 points, they might need 70 from them tonight.
Boston Celtics vs Brooklyn Nets Prediction
I’m going with the over in this one. The pace was good, but Brooklyn only had 78 shot attempts and Boston had 89, so I think there are actually more points to be had.
The Nets were not good defensively as they are just overmatched at several positions, and Boston was awful in the first part of the 4th quarter leaving a ton of points out there.
I see Kyrie and Durant having big games, with Boston countering in a game that should be a score fest.
Prediction: Over 226
