Brooklyn Nets vs Philadelphia 76ers Predictions
Lineups have been set for tonight game between the 76ers and the Nets. Joel Embiid is in as is Kevin Durant, but the Nets will be completely short handed tonight as they are missing most of their team and they will be forced to start David Duke (the other David Duke) and Blake Griffin. The 76ers are coming off a loss last night to the Miami Heat so we have a lot of variables that will affect the outcome of this game. The line is Brooklyn -1 and the total is up to 216.5…so let’s dive in and see what can find.
I’ll be throwing out season stats for the Nets in this game as we only have a one game sample size with this roster situation. Durant was incredible in that game, but played 48 minutes, and that certainly can’t be what Brooklyn wants. This is a game both teams want to win, as it could come in to play with tie breakers at the end of the season so expect full effort from both teams.
Unfortunately for the 76ers, they have not been scoring a ton of points recently as they’ve scored 102 or fewer points in seven out of nine games, and they’re coming off of two very lackluster performance in loses to Memphis and Miami. Philadelphia has lost their last two back to back games, and are only 1-4 ATS in their last five.
As tough as the situation is for Brooklyn they’ve come together and pulled out three straight wins, and they have a day’s rest. I can’t get behind this 76ers team right now, and I don’t trust Embiid off a back to back as he only had 19-9 in his last back to back game. I’ll take short handed Brooklyn to keep the momentum going.

Brooklyn Nets vs Philadelphia 76ers Analysis from The GoldSheet
Brooklyn suddenly a team ravaged by Covid and injuries, with eight players down with various maladies including G James Harden, C LaMarcus Aldridge, G Joe Harris, and F Paul Millsap. Philly not in great shape either, coming off a game last night at home against Miami with C Joel Embiid nursing sore ribs and making just 5 of 13 shots in a 101-96 loss to a stripped-down Miami (suited up just 10 players) and Seth Curry in a similar situation with a shoulder issue making just 3 of 7 shots.
Brooklyn won the first meeting this season, back on Oct. 22 when the Nets controlled the boards and Kevin Durant, Aldridge and Harden combined for 72 points (KD had a 29-15-12 triple-double!). Shorthanded Nets might have trouble here, especially considering revenge-minded Philly has won 9 of last 12 in the series.
