Bulls vs Hornets Analysis
*All lines provided by DraftKings
The Charlotte Hornets play their final regular season road game in Chicago against the Bulls on Friday night. The Bulls lost their third straight game 117-94 at home against the Boston Celtics.
The Hornets smoked the Orlando Magic at home in their last game 128-101. Chicago comes in search of a three game regular season series sweep after winning the first two head-to-head meetings. This is a great matchup for prop bets with two potent offenses going head-to-head.
Bulls vs Hornets Team Total Props
The Chicago Bulls are favored by 2.5 points with a total of 234, setting the Hornets team total at 116.5 and the Bulls at 117.5. Chicago won 133-119 at home and 121-109 in Charlotte.
The Hornets are known for scoring points by the truck load at a breakneck pace while provided little to no resistance on defense. On the season the Bulls are middle of the pack in scoring and defense. Recently both teams are getting run over on defense.
In their last four games Charlotte is allowing 128.8 points a game, while the Bulls are allowing 125.3 points during the same span of time. The Bulls have eclipsed their team total in both head-to-head matchups with Charlotte and should be able to do it again here. I could see 120+ points relatively easily.
Team Total Play: Chicago Bulls Over
Bulls vs Hornets Player Props
Demar Derozan has had two dynamic efforts against the Hornets this season with 28 and 36 points. Nikola Vucevic and Zach Lavine have had huge games as well.
Vucevic has taken advantage of the Hornets being one of the absolute worst defenses against opposing centers in the league. He had a 30 point, 14 rebound game as well as an 18 point, 16 rebound performance.
Lavine could be out tonight, if so either of the other two players are worth an over play tonight. I’ve mentioned having trouble deciding between which Hornet will have the huge game.
However Lamelo Ball had stepped up recently, he’s averaging 38 PRA in his last 8 games and has exceled on the second game of back-to-backs with a 36.4 PRA average in those games.
Ball has had a 47 & 38 PRA efforts in two head-to-head meetings with the Bulls. His points + rebounds + assists number is only 34.5 at -115. The Chicago defense ranks bottom six in all three categories over their last 10 games. Seems worthy of a play to me.
Player Prop Play: LaMelo Ball Over 34.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists -115
Bulls vs Hornets Player Prop Parlay
This one should be easy, we will break up all three categories individually at the lowest possible number for Ball. Go with Ball 15+ points, 6+ assists and 4+ rebounds.
Let’s utilize Vucevic to expose that Hornet weakness in the paint. I don’t think 14+ points and 9+ rebounds is too much to ask. All five legs equals a +155 payout.
We hit a similar 5 leg parlay at similar odds with two players in Pascal Siakam and Joel Embiid yesterday, let’s do it again tonight.
Same Game Parlay Play:
Lamelo Ball 15+ Points
Lamelo Ball 6+ Assists
Lamelo Ball 4+ Rebounds
Nikola Vucevic 14+ Points
Nikola Vucevic 9+ Rebounds
+155
