Cavaliers vs Hawks Analysis

*All lines provided by DraftKings

The Atlanta Hawks travel to Cleveland for an all in elimination game against the Cavaliers. The Cavs lost 115-108 to the Brooklyn Nets in a game that wasn’t nearly as close as the score indicates.

The Hawks torched the Charlotte Hornets 132-103, giving them the chance to play tonight and advance. Atlanta won the four game regular season series 3-1 with the Cavs lone win coming in the first week of the season. Let’s take a look at some play-in props.

Cavaliers vs Hawks Team Total Props

The Atlanta Hawks are favored by two with a total of 223, setting the Cavs team total at 110.5 and the Hawks at 112.5. The Hawks have been a scoring machine recently. They are coming off a play-in game where they scored 132 points against the Charlotte Hornets.

They also scored 120 points or more in seven of their last ten regular season games. The Hawks scored at will against the Cavs, going over this total in three of four head-to-head meetings with 121, 124 and 131 points.

They only fell short in a game played during the first week of the regular season, back when Jarrett Allen was on the floor and the Hawks weren’t into their offensive flow. Speaking of Allen, the Cavs have given up just shy of 10 more points per game without him on the hardwood. Give me the over on the high-flying Hawks.

Team Total Prop Play: Atlanta Hawks Over 112.5

Cavaliers vs Hawks Player Props

At the writing of these article news is breaking that Jarrett Allen could return from his finger injury tonight. I don’t think his return moves the needle much.

Questions everywhere. His conditioning, a finger injury for a guy who dunks to score and how the Cavs offensive flow changes with him being added back into the lineup. Regardless I’m looking at Clint Capela.

His points + rebounds + assists line is set at 27.5. He had 35 against Charlotte with 15 points, 17 rebounds and 3 assists. He also crushed this total with 33 PRA in his last two regular season games.

The Cavs have surprisingly allowed the 6th most rebounds to opposing centers. Towards the end of the regular season we cashed plenty of tickets with centers going against the Cavs without Allen. I’m on Capela over PRA regardless of what Jarrett Allen does.

Player Prop Play: Clint Capela Over 27.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists

Cavaliers vs Hawks Player Prop Parlay

We are going to keep it simple for this one and utilize Capela and the Hawks team total over. I really like the Hawks in this game based on their success against the Cavs and their post-season experience from last season.

Again, I’m not concerned about the Allen news whatsoever, as a matter of fact I think it hurts the Cavs continuity. So let’s go Hawks money line, team total over 109.5 and Capela 20+ points + rebounds for a +130 price.

Same Game Parlay Play:

Atlanta Hawks money line -140
Atlanta Hawks Team Total OVER 109.5
Clint Capela 20+ Points + Rebounds
+130
