Chicago Bulls vs Phoenix Suns Analysis
The Phoenix Suns enter the United Center on Monday night as one of the hottest teams in the NBA right now, winning 12 of their last 13 games outright and cashing six of their last ten against the spread also.
Chicago, however, owns the East’s best home record right alongside Miami and will want to restore that after coming off a disappointing 11-point loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday.
This will be the teams’ first meeting of the season.
The Suns are Red-Hot
Bar a slight blip against Atlanta on Thursday night which saw the Suns on the wrong side of a 124-115 road loss, the Suns have been an absolute freight train this season, losing just two games total in 2022.
The Hawks were able to hit 50%+ from the floor in Thursday’s win against Phoenix along with hitting almost 50% from three point range as well in a monumental effort to see off Phoenix in that one. And yet the Suns were still able to bounceback in the very next game with a 15-point blowout win over the Washington Wizards to keep their electric run in the West intact this season.
Chicago Strong at United Center
While the Bulls came off that disappointing 119-108 loss to the Sixers on Sunday, that’s nonetheless the anomaly this season as Chicago have usually been excellent at their home court all year.
The Bulls’ offensive efficiency has jumped from 12th to 2nd this season between road and home form while conversely on defense, they’re holding opponents to around a bucket less per game inside the paint than on the road this season, with their defensive rebound production showing an uptick of around 3% as well inside the United Center.
Chicago Bulls vs Phoenix Suns Prediction
We are looking toward the over in Monday night’s Chicago Bulls vs Phoenix Suns clash in the Windy City.
Chicago comes off a really sub-par offensive effort on Sunday night against Philadelphia (that still despite DeRozan going off for 45 points in that game), as the Bulls hit just 26.9% from beyond the arc against the Sixers, a full 10.3% drop-off from their in-season average.
Similarly, the Suns also come off a down game offensively against Washington. Phoenix’s fast-break efficiency numbers dropped off dramatically in that win as they hung their lowest points total since December 13th.
The Suns’ shooting percentage also dipped by 7.4% in that game along with sinking just eight three-pointers total, almost a third less than their season average.
While this total is set high on Monday, if both of these teams can get anywhere near back to parity offensively tonight, this could well turn into a track meet between two of the most offensively blessed teams in the league.
We’re recommending a play on the over in tonight’s Chicago Bulls vs Phoenix Suns showdown.
Chicago Bulls vs Phoenix Suns Preview from GoldSheet
Chicago is coming off last night’s 119-108 home setback at the hands of powerful Philadelphia despite DeMar DeRozan contributing 45 points, nine rebounds and seven assists. The Bulls were without both G Coby White (abductor strain) and F Zach LaVine (back spasms) in that matchup.
Now it’s out of the boxing ring and into the octagon to face league-leading Phoenix. The Bulls have been pretty good at home (17-9 vs. the spread), off a straight-up loss (11-8 vs. the number) and in the second night of back-to-back games this season (7-4); while the Suns are 13-7 against the number as a road favorite on the year. Bulls’ injury-depleted backcourt is in a bit of a mismatch against Suns’ Chris Paul and Devin Booker.
