Cleveland Cavaliers vs Los Angeles Lakers Betting Analysis
The Cleveland Cavaliers play host to the Los Angeles Lakers in an inter conference matchup on Tuesday evening. The Lakers won their third straight game 130-119 over the Washington Wizards. The Cavaliers lost on the road 92-81 Saturday against the New York Knicks.
This is the 2nd and final regular season meeting between these teams after Cleveland prevailed 114-100 in Los Angeles on November 6th. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM EST/4:30 PST as the first game of a TNT Tuesday night doubleheader from Quicken Loans Arena.
Showtime Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers seem to have gotten back on track with wins in three straight and 7 of their last 9 games after beating the Washington Wizards 130-119 on Sunday. Anthony Davis was otherworldly with 55 points on 22 of 30 from the field to go along with 17 rebounds and three blocks.
Lebron James also had a solid performance with 29 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Russell Westbrook added 15 assists while coming off the bench. Westbrook has looked noticeably more upbeat since joining the reserves.
Anthony Davis has been on another level during the last nine games with averages of 35.3 points, 15.5 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per game. The Lakers rank 11th in scoring and shooting with 114.8 points and 47.3% from the field. However their offensive efficiency rating is only 27th in the NBA.
Los Angeles ranks 21st in defensive scoring with 115 points a game while sitting at 13th in offensive efficiency. Davis and James both seem to be getting close to full health as they are both probable for this contest. Foward Wenyen Gabriel is questionable with left shoulder soreness.
Cavalier Contenders
The Cleveland Cavaliers became the first New York Knicks opponent to be held under 100 points this season as they lost 92-81 in a game where they never had a lead. Donovan Mitchell led the Cavs in scoring with 23 points on only 8 for 22 from the field and a putrid 2 for 11 from beyond the arc.
Darius Garland chipped in with 17 points while Evan Mobley added an 11 point 10 rebound double-double. Cleveland only shot 34.9% from the field while being out-rebounded 54-39. The Cavs rank 17th in scoring with 111.3 points per game but rank #6 in offensive efficiency.
“Spida” Mitchell paces the team with 28.1 points while Jarrett Allen is the teams top rebounder with 10.9 boards a game. This is #1 rated defense in the NBA, they allow the least points with only 105 per game on only 45.5% from the field.
The Cavaliers will be without their anchor as Jarrett Allen continues to miss time with a back injury. Dylan Windler is out with ankle injury, Dean Wade is out with an AC joint sprain while Ricky Rubio still hasn’t made an appearance yet this season due to a knee injury.
Cleveland Cavaliers vs Los Angeles Lakers Player Prop Prediction
The Cleveland Cavaliers are currently favored by 4 points with a total of 224. This will be an exciting game with superstars like Lebron James, Anthony Davis, Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell.
Anthony Davis has been putting up monster games recently including a 55 point 17 rebound double-double against the Washington Wizards. Rebounds are going to be much easier to come by without Jarrett Allen on the court and I can’t see him being effective considering he is dealing with a back injury.
Davis has a rebound prop number set at 12.5, he has 13+ rebounds in 8 of his last 10 games while landing on 12 & 10 in the other two games. AD wil likely draw Mobley on defense and he shouldn’t pull him out of the paint very often. I’m going over 12.5 AD rebounds in this one.
