Cleveland Cavaliers vs Memphis Grizzlies Betting Analysis

The Memphis Grizzlies prepare for the second game of a back-to-back in Cleveland against the Cavaliers on Thursday evening.

The Cavaliers got edged out 100-97 on Tuesday at home against the Miami Heat. The Grizzlies lost 122-112 on Wednesday at home against the Portland Trail Blazers.

This is the second and final regular season meeting between these teams, Memphis prevailed 115-114 at home on January 18th. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM EST/4:30 PST as the first game of a TNT Thursday night doubleheader.

Cavaliers Continue To Alternate Wins & Losses

The Cleveland Cavaliers record dipped to 31-22 on the season after losing to Miami at home on Tuesday. Long distance shooting proved to be the difference as Miami shot 14-31 45.2% from beyond the arc while Cleveland went only 11-40 for 27.5%.

Their leading scorer was Evan Mobley with 19 points along with 7 rebounds. Jarrett Allen recorded a 14 point, 11 rebound double-double while Darius Garland & Donovan Mitchell each scored 16 points.

Cleveland currently occupies the 5th spot in the Eastern Conference, 6.5 games behind the first place Celtics.

The Cavaliers calling card is definitely defense as they rank #1 in defensive rating and #1 in scoring with only 106.8 points allowed per game.

Offense hasn’t been the same story as they sit at 26th in scoring with only 111.2 points per game on 48.4% from the floor. Caris LeVert is listed as questionable with right hamstring soreness and is the only player listed on the injury report.

Grizzlies Hibernating

The Memphis Grizzlies fell to 32-19 on the season after losing their 6th game in seven tries, with their only win being two point home victory over the lowly Pacers.

The Grizzlies owned the interior with a tremendous 62-40 points in the paint advantage. Ja Morant led Memphis in scoring and fell one assist shy of a triple-double with 32 points, 12 assists and 9 rebounds.

Jaren Jackson Jr added 18 points and 7 rebounds while Desmond Bane chipped in with 17 points. Memphis currently occupies the #2 seed in the Western Conference, three games behind the first place Denver Nuggets.

The Grizzlies sit at 8th in scoring with 116.6 points per game on 46.9% from the field. They rank 2nd in defensive rating and 10th in defensive scoring with only 112.5 points allowed per game.

Steven Adams (PCL sprain) and John Konchar (concussion) have both already been ruled out for this contest.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs Memphis Grizzlies Player Prop Prediction

The Cleveland Cavaliers enter this contest as 5.5 point home favorites with a total set at 223.5. The two top rated defenses in the NBA collide in a clash between two teams in the midst of rough patches.

Darius Garland had a 14 assist performance against Memphis on January 18th. His line is set at 7.5 with some juice and he has averaged 8.1 assists on 13.4 assist chances per game on the season.

Garland has recorded 9+ assists in 7 of his last 9 games with 6 & 5 in the other two games. Garland enjoys home cooking with an average of 8.4 assists a game at home compared to 7.8 on the road.

We have seen Chris Paul record 11 assists against the Grizzlies while De’Aaron Fox had 10 and Dennis Schroder had 8.

Garland will see more possessions as the Grizzlies rank 2nd in pace and Garland now has 12, 10 & 14 dimes against them in his last three games. Let’s back Garland to get 8 dimes tonight at home in Cleveland.
