Denver Nuggets vs Brooklyn Nets Analysis
Interesting game tonight as both teams are on back to backs but will be with the same lineups as last night it appears. This is Denver’s second road game of six game road trip where the Nets will be playing their second game in a row at home, of course without Kyrie.
The Nuggets have won two straight and the Nets have lost two straight and the Nets will be two point underdogs at home with a total of 221.5, so let’s get make some money off this game.
Joker Not Joking Around
Jokic continues his amazing season as he has lead his team in points, rebounds and assists in four out of five games, and is coming off a 28-21 performance in a win against Detroit. That makes two wins in a row over Detroit for Denver and they’re 7-3 in their last 10, but they are 3-7 against the spread so they haven’t been a good cover team, and they’re 1-4 their last 5 road games.
The worry for them tonight is that they are a bottom nine team in defending point guards, and James Harden has to notice that so slowing him down is going to be a tough, but important task tonight. An odd stat that I think is worth noting is that they are 8-2 against the spread in the first half on the road in their last 10 games. Big red flag for Denver tonight is they are favored, but they are 1-6 in second games of a back to back.
Can Harden Hold the Nets Together
It’s the most obvious storyline for this team right now as Kyrie isn’t playing home games, and Harden is now left to handle the load. They’re 1-2 in home games since Durant left, and last night Harden had a huge workload playing 38 minutes and having a triple double going for 33-12-11.
He took 27% of the entire teams shot attempts, and besides him, Mills and Bembry were the only two guys in double digits. Lebron dominated them last night, and I really don’t see who on the Nets is going to slow down Jokic. Maybe Aldridge gets more minutes, but right now Sharpe is starting at center, and I don’t see him having much luck.
Denver Nuggets vs Brooklyn Nets Prediction
I’m going with the Nuggets to top the Nets tonight. The Nets have become a one man team at home, and if Harden doesn’t play absolutely lights out tonight I think Jokic and company could dominate. Both teams are on a back to back, but Harden played the most minutes by far of anyone playing tonight and is being asked to do everything for his team. Last night every starter for Denver scored double digits, and the bench pitched in 24 points. Tired legs from Harden could spell doom for Brooklyn…give me Denver to win and cover.

Denver Nuggets vs Brooklyn Nets Preview from GoldSheet
Both teams were in action last night with Denver winning 110-105 at Detroit, making hard work of it when the Nuggets led 97-85 entering the 4th Q but were stuck on 97 for more than 5 minutes. The Denver lead was chopped down to three midway in the 4th and again at the end of the game, failing to cover.
Denver’s Nikola Jokic has been a one-man wrecking crew all season, but the result at Detroit was the team’s 5th straight pointspread loss, although Nuggets are 10-5 SU in the last 15 (Jokic at 27 ppg, 15 rpg and 8.3 apg in that span), but team’s 2nd-leading scorer, G Will Barton, missed the stop in Motown with a hamstring injury.
Brooklyn is off a loss against an embarrassed and angry Laker team, but there were positive signs for the Nets with the return of Nic Claxton, and a 33-12-11 triple-double effort from James Harden. The Nets came up short at home against the Lakers suffering a 106-96 loss and have a schedule that will get tough in a western trip that sees Steve Nash’s Nets visiting Golden State, Phoenix, Utah and this Denver side in a 5-game trip.
Nets had a 54-33 edge on the boards against the Lakers but couldn’t overcome a 7-for-27 night from beyond the arc and a sloppy 18 turnovers against LA. Nets 9-5 following a loss this season.
