Denver Nuggets vs Los Angeles Clippers Betting Analysis
The Los Angeles Clippers travel to Ball Arena in Denver for a Western Conference clash with the Nuggets on Thursday evening. The Nuggets lost 124-111 on the road against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday night.
The Clippers lost their third straight game 110-100 at home against the Miami Heat. This is the second of four regular season meetings as Denver prevailed in Los Angeles 114-104 on November 25th. Tip-off is scheduled for 10:00 PM EST/7:00 PST as the nightcap of a TNT Thursday night doubleheader.
Clippers Hope To Snap Three Game Skid
The Los Angeles Clippers fell to 21-18 on the season after losing their third straight game on Tuesday against the Heat. Miami dominated the Clippers down low with a 48-34 rebounding advantage and 48-28 edge in points in the paint.
Paul George led the team in scoring with 25 points along with 7 assists. Marcus Morris Sr added 14 points and 7 rebounds while Ivica Zubac had 10 points and 7 rebounds.
Defense is the Clips calling card as they sit at 5th in defensive rating and 3rd in defensive scoring with only 109.4 points allowed per game.
Offensively it’s been a completely different story as they rank 28th in points scored with only 109.5 points per game on 46.6% from the field. Paul George is currently listed as questionable with a hamstring issue while Nicolas Batum has already been ruled our with a left ankle sprain.
Nuggets Cooking At Home
The Denver Nuggets record dipped to 24-13 after losing in Minnesota on Monday. It was a relatively even game statistically but they lost the shooting battle from the field and free throw line. Nikola Jokic led the Nuggs in scoring with 24 points along with 9 assists and 7 rebounds.
Aaron Gordon added a 12 point, 16 rebound double-double while Michael Porter Jr chipped in with 18 points. Denver is back at home now at Ball Arena where the Nuggets are 14-3 compared to 10-10 on the road.
The Nuggets have gotten the job done with offense as they rank 6th in scoring with 116.4 points a game on the leagues best shooting percentage of 50.8%.
They have struggled defensively as they sit at 25th in defensive rating and 17th in defensive scoring with 114.5 points allowed per game. Jeff Green has been ruled out with a hand injury and is the only Nugget on the current injury report.
Denver Nuggets vs Los Angeles Clippers Prop Prediction
The Denver Nuggets are favored by 6 points over the Los Angeles Clippers with a total set at 229. This is a measuring stick game between two teams who could easily wind up meeting again in a Western Conference playoff series.
Jokic and the Nuggets are back at home where they play at an elite level. Their team total is set at 117.5 and they have eclipsed that total in 5 of their last 7 games including all three home games. The Clippers are known for an elite defense but Paul George could miss tonight’s contest.
They have allowed six straight opponents to score 110+ and three of those scored 118+. The great Clipper defenders are on the perimeter but don’t have the interior defenders to slow Jokic and Gordon down low. This is a perfect bounce back spot for the Nuggets at home and coming off a loss.
