Denver Nuggets vs Philadelphia 76ers Predictions

  • Denver Nuggets -8 vs Philadelphia 76ers
  • Total: 209.5 Points
  • The under is 7-3-1 in the last 11 games between these two teams.

It’s been a miserable run for the 76ers recently as they have lost five straight games as they are dealing with multiple players being out, including defensive superstars Joel Embiid and Matisse Thybulle, and the results have been predictable. They’ve been one of the worst defensive teams over the last 10 days giving up 103 points the last five games (all losses), and they’ve given up 115 the last four games. It’s pretty simple to see and predict what’s going on with Philly…they are playing tough, but are outmatched and the massive blowout against Utah on Tuesday might be a sign that fatigue is setting in, and with Denver coming tonight they are going to have a difficult matchup with everything that Jokic brings to the table.

Denver had won five straight before losing to Dallas on Monday and they have been getting amazing production from Jokic, but their success depends on what they’re getting from the other starting four. When they get good shooting from the role players, that combination of Jokic running the offense combined with their athleticism on defense is going to be extremely tough on Philly tonight. The Nuggets have athletes to keep Tobias Harris and Maxey in check, and without those two guys having big nights, it’s hard to see where the points are coming from.

Play: Denver Nuggets -7.5

We’ll be playing the well rested Nuggets at home -7.5 as Jokic will be dominant tonight running the offense, and Aaron Gordon’s activity on defense is going to clog up the Philly offense. Drummond doesn’t scare the interior of Denver’s defense, so Jokic will be able to roam and defend the lane. That makes Philly dependent on making threes from outside and if they aren’t falling, it will be a long night again for the 76ers. Utah did a great job laying out a solid game plan on how to attack Philly, and Denver has similar players who can implement those practices. I’ll lay the -7.5 and expect a big victory for the Nuggets.

Denver Nuggets vs Philadelphia 76ers Analysis from The GoldSheet

Denver has had a few days off since having its five-game winning streak snapped at Dallas on Monday, while Philadelphia’s funk continued with its fifth-straight loss, this time at Utah on Tuesday. During that losing streak, the Sixers are yielding 119 points per 100 possessions, as the Sixers obviously stuck in reverse with the Covid-induced absence of all-star pivot Joel Embiid and the tender hamstring of F Danny Green. Word is both will again be sidelined for this NBA-TV game, and not afraid to look back the under the under. These teams rank 30th and 28th in pace in the league.
