Denver Nuggets vs Portland Trail Blazers Betting Analysis
The Portland Trail Blazers travel to Denver for a Western Conference clash with the Nuggets on Tuesday evening. The Nuggets won their 6th straight game 119-116 at home against the Orlando Magic. The Blazers beat the Dallas Mavericks 140-123 to give them a mini two game winning streak.
This will be the fourth and final regular season meeting between these clubs as Denver currently leads the series 2-1. Tip-off is scheduled for 9:10 PM EST/6:10 PST from the Pepsi Center in Denver.
How The West Was Won
The Denver Nuggets currently led the Western Conference with a 30-13 record after winning their 6th straight game on Sunday over Orlando. Denver had a tremendous edge from beyond the arc as they shot 13-39 33.3% compared to the Magic going 7-29 for 24.1%.
Aaron Gordon led all scorers with 25 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Nikola Jokic recorded yet another triple double with 17 points, 14 assists and 10 rebounds while all five starters scored double figures.
The Nuggets are dominant at home with a staggering record of 18-3. Offense is the Denver calling card as they rank 6th with 117 points per game on an NBA best 50.9% shooting percentage. They rank below average defensively at 16th in rating and 14th in scoring with 113.1 points allowed per game.
Jamal Murray is listed as probable for this contest while Bones Hyland and Vlatko Cancar are both questionable. Jeff Green and Collin Gillespie have both already been ruled out.
Blazing A Path
The Portland Trail Blazers improved to 21-22 on the season after beating the Dallas Mavericks twice in row 140-123 and 136-119. Free throws may have been the difference as the Blazers went 37-42 for 88.1% while the Mavericks went only 27-33 for 81.8%.
Dame Lillard was the games leading scorer with 40 points with 6 assists while going a perfect 16-16 from the charity stripe. Jerami Grant, Jusuf Nurkic and Anfernee Simons all scored exactly 20 points while Josh Hart snagged 12 rebounds.
Portland ranks below average in scoring with an average of 113.3 points per game on 47.9% from the field. They have struggled defensively as they sit 21st in defensive rating and 13th in defensive scoring with 112.6 points allowed per game. Justice Winslow remains out with an ankle injury while Gary Payton II is listed as questionable.

The Denver Nuggets are 6.5 point favorites with a high total set at 238.5. This could be the Denver Nuggets year as they are finally healthy and currently lead the Western Conference.
The Blazers are looking to get back to .500 in this one after beating the Dallas Mavericks handily twice in a row.
I’m looking at Nikola Jokic in a bounce back spot from a scoring perspective as he has scored only 17, 21 and 14 points in his last three games. Jokic didn’t need to score in these games against the likes of Orlando, Phoenix (in their current state) and the Lakers.
Jokic scored 33 & 29 on January 8th & 23rd against the Trail Blazers. This is a bit of rivalry for the “Joker” as he goes head-to-head with his former teammate Jusuf Nurkic.
Portland also allows the 3rd most points to opposing centers with an average of 25.21 per game. We will see plenty of scoring in this one with a total set through the roof at 238.5. The Blazers should keep this game competitive to push Jokic up and over this low point total.
