Detroit Pistons vs Milwaukee Bucks Analysis
The Milwaukee Bucks travel to Detroit for an Eastern Conference clash with the Pistons on Friday night. The Pistons were absolutely dismantled at home by the Dallas Mavericks 131-113 on Wednesday night.
The Bucks beat the Boston Celtics 127-121 at home last night to move into 2nd place in the East. Milwaukee will be looking to win the season series 3-1 after winning two of the first three head-to-head matchups.
Pistons Look to Next Season
After losing to the Dallas Mavericks the Detroit Pistons 23-57 record makes them the third worst team in the NBA, ahead of only the Orlando Magic and Houston Rockets.
They got out to a 34-32 lead after the first quarter, but lost each of the next three quarters and ultimately lost by 18 points. Cade Cunningham led his team with 25 points, while Isaiah Stewart had a 19 point, 14 rebound double double.
Obviously the Pistons record isn’t impressive whatsoever, but they have been amazing against the spread. On the season they are 45-35 ATS, but recently they have been off the charts going 19-3-1 ATS in the last 23 games.
Jerami Grant has been shut down for the rest of the season while Corey Joseph and Marvin Bagley III are both questionable for Friday night.
After this final home game, the Pistons will travel to Philadelphia to conclude their 2022 season Sunday night against the 76ers.
Bucks Hunting #2 Seed
The Milwaukee Bucks stand at 50-30 after nights victory over the Boston Celtics. The same team they currently have a half game lead on for 2nd place in the Eastern Conference.
Giannis Antetokounmpo led Milwaukee in both points and rebounds with 29 and 11 respectively. Jrue Holiday actually did match Antetokounmpo with 29 points, while Khris Middleton led the team with 9 assists.
After this game the Bucks will finish their season on Sunday afternoon in Cleveland. Grayson Allen is the only player listed on the injury report and he is already ruled out with a nagging hip injury.
However they are playing on the road in the 2nd game of a back-to-back, it’s also late in the season so any player could sit.
Milwaukee has relied on their offense as they rank 3rd in scoring with over 115 points a game. They have maintained that ranking over their last 15 games with 120 points per game.
Detroit Pistons vs Milwaukee Bucks Prediction
The Milwaukee Bucks are favored by 6 points with a total of 228. First thought is that spread looks awful light, I would expect a double digit spread under normal circumstances.
The Bucks are on a back-to-back and that spread screams Milwaukee starters being rested. Even with how well the Pistons have done covering spreads, it still seems low.
The total also really seems like a coin flip. Detroit with the points has been cashing and they did beat Milwaukee at full strength in their last head-to-head meeting.
I’m fully expecting Milwaukee to rest players. Not a ton of confidence, but a lean or small play on Detroit and the points.
Prediction: Detroit Pistons +5.5
