Expert Player Props for Monday: Zach LaVine, Sacramento Kings Under 3.5 Assists (-140)

Since joining the Sacramento Kings, Zach LaVine has fallen short of this line in 10 of 12 games when playing against teams that rank above the bottom five in assists allowed to opposing guards.

During those games, LaVine has averaged only 2.4 assists on 4.9 potential assists per game. Now he’s facing a Detroit Pistons defense that has allowed the 5th fewest assists (24.6/game) and 4th fewest assists to opposing shooting guards (4.4/game).

LaVine did record 5 assists against Detroit in November but that was in a completely different situation while playing in Chicago with the Bulls.

LaVine is focused more on scoring and the Kings now stagger Malik Monk and Keon Ellis which gives them a consistent facilitator.

LaVine has fallen short of this line in six straight games and his potential assists haven’t surpassed 3 in three of those games, making it impossible to clear this line. Take advantage of the DK line as FD is already up to -172.

Expert Player Props for Monday: Zach LaVine, Sacramento Kings Over 20.5 Points (-110)

Over the last six games, Zach LaVine has averaged 23.2 points per game, and he’s crushed this line in back-to-back games with 37 and 25 points against the Cleveland Cavaliers and Charlotte Hornets.

Since joining the Sacramento Kings, LaVine has averaged 21.6 points per game, but he’s been slightly better on the road where he’s averaged 22.1 per game.

He’s cleared this line in 9 of 16 (56%) games since joining the Kings. This is a back-to-back situation, but LaVine has thrived with zero days rest since joining Sacramento, scoring 19, 21, 17, 32 and 22 points.

The Detroit Pistons have been solid against opposing shooting guards, but they are closer to the middle of the pack in three-pointers allowed.

LaVine has been firing away from beyond the arc with 7+ attempts in four straight games. As I mentioned above, I fully expect LaVine to focus on scoring and the Kings need every possible victory to lock in a play-in spot.
