Golden State Warriors vs Los Angeles Lakers Betting Analysis
The defending champion Golden State Warriors stayed alive with a dominant effort in Game 5 as their back were against the wall at the Chase Center.
They were able to cut the Los Angeles Lakers series lead to 3-2 with a one-sided 121-106 victory. Now this series shifts back to Los Angeles where the Lakers will have another opportunity to finish off the Warriors.
It’s going to take another tremendous effort for Golden State to stay alive as they are only 12-34 SU on the road this season. Tip-off is scheduled for 10:00 PM EST/7:00 PST from Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
Warriors Stay Alive
The Golden State Warriors were able to hold serve as they beat the Los Angeles Lakers and force a Game 6. Steph Curry led all scorers with 27 points while adding 8 assists and 3 rebounds.
Andrew Wiggins was right behind him with 25 points and 7 rebounds while Draymond Green recorded a 20 point, 10 rebound double-double. Klay Thompson added only 10 points in another poor shooting effort of 3-12.
Golden State shot 51% from the floor and out-rebounded the Lakers 48-38. It looked like the Warriors addressed their season long road issues after winning Games 5 & 7 in Sacramento, but that was against an inexperienced Kings teams without post-season experience.
The Lakers obviously have that championship pedigree and this will the Warriors last chance to win in Los Angeles. Andrew Wiggins is listed as questionable due to a ribcage fracture and he is the only player listed on the injury report that has participated in this series.
Lakers Look To Avoid Game 7
After falling short in Game 5, the Los Angeles Lakers will need a tremendous effort in Game 6 as Lebron James knows how hard it is to win a Game 7 in Golden State. Lebron James led his team in both scoring and rebounding with 25 points and 9 boards.
Anthony Davis was right behind him with 23 points and 9 rebounds while Austin Reeves chipped in with 15 points and 7 rebounds. AD exited the game with 7 minutes remaining due to a head injury and listed as questionable for Game 6, but the team remains hopeful that he will play.
The Lakers shot only 48% from the field and 37% from three-point land while making three less three-pointers. Los Angeles is 3-0 in the series when holding the Warriors to 112 points or less.
We can expect the Lakers to slow things down and force the Warriors to execute in the half court. Regardless the health of Davis could determine the outcome of this game. Outside of Davis, Mo Bamba is the only other player on the injury report and he is questionable with an ankle injury.
Golden State Warriors vs Los Angeles Lakers Prediction
The Los Angeles Lakers enter this contest as 2.5 point home favorites with a total set at 221. As we mentioned, Draymond Green was the led Game 5 in rebounds as the only player to record double digits with 10.
Kevon Looney was crashing the glass in the Sacramento series as well as Game 1 of this series. But since coming off the bench in Game 2 and remaining there every game after, the boards have been available for others.
Now Anthony Davis and Andrew Wiggins are both questionable with injuries that could make getting dirty in the paint difficult.
I also fully expect Curry, Thompson and the other Dubs shooters to worry about scoring, allowing Green to do the dirty work. Greens rebounds number seems awful low at 7.5 and I’m banking on the over.
