Golden State Warriors vs Portland Trail Blazers Betting Analysis
The Portland Trail Blazers travel to the Chase Center for a Western Conference clash with the Golden State Warriors on Friday night. The Warriors won their third straight home game 112-107 against the Utah Jazz on Wednesday evening.
The Blazers ran the Charlotte Hornets off the court in a 124-113 victory on Monday night. This will be the first of four games in a regular season series that Golden State swept 3-0 in the 2021-22 campaign. Tip-off is slated for 10:00 PM EST/7:00 PST on NBATV.
Wounded Warriors
The Golden State Warriors got back to .500 at 18-18 after winning their third straight game over Utah on Wednesday. The Warriors may have won the game at the free throw line as they went 22-27 (81.5%) compared to the Jazz going only 18-26 (69.2%).
Jordan Poole led the Dubs in scoring with 26 points while hitting 10 of 12 free throws. Donte DiVincenzo added 19 points while Ty Jerome chipped in with 17 points off the bench.
The Warriors are the 5th best scoring team in the league with an average of 116.4 points a game on 47.5% from the field. Defense has been a struggle for Golden State as they rank 26th in scoring with 116.9 points allowed per game.
They are also below average in rebounding at 17th with 43.1 boards per game. Steph Curry, Andrew Wiggins and JaMychal Green have all already been ruled out for this contest while Donte DiVincenzo and Draymond Green are both listed as probable.
Blazers Snap Three Game Skid
The Portland Trail Blazers upped their record to 18-16 on the season after beating Charlotte on Monday. Portland dominated every phase of the game as they outshot, out-rebounded and outscored the Hornets. Jerami Grant led all scorers with 32 points along with 10 rebounds and 5 assists.
Jusuf Nurkic had a 28 point, 15 rebound double-double, as did Josh Hart with 11 points and 13 rebounds. The Blazers are below average in scoring at 18th with 112.3 points per game.
They are above average in defensive scoring at 11th with 112 points allowed per game. They clamped down on Charlotte in their last game as they held the Hornets to only 46 second-half points.
Justice Winslow, Gary Payton II and Keon Johnson have all been ruled out for this game while Jusuf Nurkic is listed as probable with right calf soreness.
Golden State Warriors vs Portland Trail Blazers Prop Prediction
This game is a virtual pick’em with the Portland Trail Blazers favored by only 2 points with a total of 233. Both teams have similar records with future playoff aspirations. While researching I found an amazing statistic involving Golden State Warriors home games.
Over their last 70 home games including the post-season, Warriors opponents are 66-4 to the under on teams totals of 118.5 or greater. The Dubs have held three straight opponents to less than 110 points, all home games.
The Blazers average significantly less points on the road with 108.8 per game compared to 117.4 at home. Portlands team total is set at 117.5, only a point below that trend with a 94% success rate.
Regardless of personnel, the Warriors defense just doesn’t allow more than 118 points at home. Considering the uncertainty surrounding key players in this game, the Blazers team total under is the absolute best option.
