Golden State Warriors vs Toronto Raptors Betting Analysis
The Toronto Raptors continue their West coast road trip in San Francisco against the Golden State Warriors on Friday night.
The Warriors are coming off a 122-120 home victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday. The Raptors won their second straight game 113-95 on the road against the Sacramento Kings.
This is the second final head-to-head meeting between these teams, Golden State prevailed 126-110 north of the border on December 18th. Tip-off is scheduled for 10:00 PM EST/7:00 PST as the nightcap of an NBATV doubleheader.
Warriors Continue to Alternate Wins and Losses
The Golden State Warriors got back to .500 at 24-24 as they edged out Memphis on Wednesday. Long distance shooting may have been the difference as Golden State shot 14-32 for 43.8% compared to Memphis going 10-31 for 32.3%.
Steph Curry led all scorers with 34 points while going 10-19 from the field and 10-11 from the charity stripe. Draymond Green had a great all around game with 8 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists while Klay Thompson added 24 points.
The Warriors currently occupy the 9th seed in the Western Conference, 9.5 games behind the first place Denver Nuggets but a half game away from missing the play-in tournament. Golden State ranks 3rd in scoring with 117.7 points a game on 47.2% from the floor.
They sit at 17th in defensive rating and 27th in defensive scoring with 118 points allowed per game. Andrew Wiggins is considered questionable for this contest with an illness while Andre Iguodala remains out with a hip injury.
Raptors Take Crown From Kings
The Toronto Raptors improved to 22-27 on the season after beating Sacramento in their first of seven road games. Toronto owned the Kings in the interior with a 41-34 rebounding edge and outscoring them 58-42 in the paint.
Pascal Siakam led all scorers and rebounders with 26 points and 11 rebounds while also recording 7 assists. Scottie Barnes had a Draymond-like game with 7 points, 10 assists and 6 rebounds while Fred VanVleet chipped in with 17 points.
Toronto currently occupies the 12th seed in the Eastern Conference, 12.5 games behind the first place Celtics. More importantly they are a half game behind the Washington Wizards & Chicago Bulls for the final play-in spot.
The Raptors rank 21st in scoring with only 112.6 points a game on 45.2% from the field. They are the 16th rated defense in the NBA while ranking 8th in defensive scoring with 112.1 points allowed per game. Dalano Blanton is only player on the injury report and he is questionable with a hip injury.
Golden State Warriors vs Toronto Raptors Prediction
The Golden State Warriors are 5.5 point home favorites with a total set at 234.5. This is matchup between two teams that have fallen well short of expectations thus far.
I’ve noticed that Scottie Barnes has been utilized more as a facilitator during the last handful of games. The Raptors run a tight 8 man rotation and Barnes has played 38, 37, 42, 39 & 37 minutes in his last five games.
Barnes Rebounds + Assists total is set at 12.5 and he has cleared that in 7 of his last 10 games, landing on 12, 11 & 8 in the other three games. The Warriors have allowed 5th most rebounds and 9th most assists to opposing small fowards over the last 15 games.
Andrew Wiggins is questionable, potentially leaving the Dubs short a strong defender. This will be a fast-paced high scoring game and with a spread of 5 it should be a close game.
Regardless Barnes will be out there for 37+ minutes and he has cleared this total in 5 of his last 6 road games. Let’s cash this ticket Scottie.
